anyone tried these yet? They're quite cheap but in the pics it looks like the light output is significantly less than the original bulb... |

Just replaced my stock halogen DRL with ijdmtoy's pw24w:
Happy with the result!

I did this same replacement right after getting my car - worked great for 2 weeks then multiple times daily the error codes were displayed that I had a light out. I could turn the light switch to make the DRL's go off and the error message would go away then when switched back the error came back - I did end up returning the bulbs since I was within my 30 day window and they refunded me my $30..
Was hoping another option would surface Anyone????

Mine fell out into the light because of the stupid prongs. Hit a bump and the light fell out of the socket. Getting the thing out of the light housing unit (not sure what it's called but inside the glass) was terrible.

That sounds scary! How were you able to get the thing out?

iJDMTOY.com has an 18 SMD LED option for $34. I don't recommend trying their 8 SMD option though.

it was terrible, had to use one of those metal things that you squeeze on the top and a little claw opens on the bottom to grab things. It's normally used to pick up things you drop in your sink drain. Forgot what it's called, it's a long metal flexible tube with a hidden claw that comes out of the tube when you push/squeeze the top. Scratched some of the plastic on the inside, but what else can you do? I was very upset to say the least.

All you need is a pw24w bulb as stated by everyone else. It's your choice completely as to what bulb you go for, but there are tons on eBay (UK at least)
I've replaced all the bulbs on my F30 Halogen. This is the pw24w, which DOES give error code, but can be coded out. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1317637491...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Parking Lights can also be replaced with LED - I believe there is a thread on this somewhere. And both high/low beam use H7, which I have Philips Diamond Vision for. I'll try and get some pics whenever its dark. |

Just picked up 2 from that ebay listing, how long you reckon they will last? Also how did you code out the error? Also regarding the H7's, would be great to see pictures and also same with these. How long do you think they will last? |

You'll need to get yourself a cable (check DIY section) The H7 are fantastic, although I believe they've stopped producing Diamond Vision I think. I believe they were renamed to extreme vision or something along those lines. I managed to find a seller (opie oils) which sold Diamond Vision though. I had them on my old fiesta (also H7) which lasted me a year before I changed car, but the difference in brightness while driving at night and white colour is brilliant. I've replaced both dipped beam and high beam with these! |
