Quick Question

I'm trying to purchase some used front tires for my '14 435i 19" wheels.

The original size for front wheels is 225 40 19.
However, can I buy 225 45 19 for these front rims?
Will there be any fit issues or rubbing in the wheel-well?

thanks!!!!

Using non-oem tire sizes or tires with a non-equivalent size will throw the speedo off

Don't think you're dealer would appreciate that because they'd need to change the tires or adjust the speedo to sell the car

Suggest to visit Member Classified section.

Returning the vehicle with tires other than BMW wants to see will incur additional charges, sometimes greater than average. This means RFT tires, same brand on all 4 wheels, OEM sizes only, and sufficient amount of tread life remaining.

the tire brand, model is identical. It is also a RFT. the only difference from OEM is, it's 45 instead of 40. Meaning 225 45 19, instead of 225 40 19.

That's why im asking if this little variance will matter at all. I actually do not believe there'll be a difference. But just wanted others' experienced opinions.
As I will be driving on these tires for about a month prior to lease return.

And from what ive heard and read, other folks have returned their BMW cars with mix and matched tires, completely diff than OEM, etc, and never faced an issue. Perhaps their rep was indifferent?

You can probably get by with them. At 70 mph indicated the actual speed will be 72.4, at 80 mph indicated the actual speed will be 82.8. I'm not sure what effect having different diameters front and rear will have.

Won't throw off speedo. It's measured by the speed of the transmission
