HU_ENTRY upgrade path?

What's up guys,

I know there are a few threads on this already, but in reading through them I haven't been able to discern what the best upgrade path is to get a proper screen size (no. 1 priority) and some better features that will take me out of 1999.

I have a base of the base F30 from 2013, so rockin the good old HU_ENTRY system.

The way I see it, I can buy an upgraded screen and it will be stretched. Or I can go completely aftermarket and buy an Avin or some other android system.

Are those my only options? Are there any OEM retrofits that will work with this system or am I SOL?

Just looking for a solid answer as there is a lot of info floating around out there but not on the viable upgrade paths for HU_ENTRY.

THANKS

NBT will work and is a relatively easy install on HU_ENTRY.

Mmkay I always thought this was very difficult/impossible but am now reading on some other forums... it looks like a little bit of coding and then purchasing a kit like this?

Thanks dude! after doing some more sleuthing I found this vid, thanks for putting that together. In piecing together your kit did you need to purchase the 'DAB antenna'?

I'm having a look here as well. I have a 2017 (pre-LCI) F36 and looking at NBT upgrade. I have 6,5" now, but I'm unsure if I have to use an emulator for this process?

Not hard at all. Emulator def needed unless u wanna buy expensive fsc codes. Make sure unit u buy does have fsc codes. Most should unless stated otherwise.

Sorry for bumping this one back.

This video above is perfect! Do you maybe know would this retrofit work with hu_CIC? Why do you need additional GPS and adapter for touchdrive? I bought NBT which is already coded for my car VIN, but I do not have required wires; If I got them would this be plug and play? I heard there could be a big problem with the microphone when retroffiting to NBT. I think I have combox, what I need to do additionaly from the video if I do? After retrofit, is there somtething that does not work which worked before retrofit?

Thanks in advance!
