The horn!?!?!?!?

Wow!!!!! Cant really believe Im threading about this, but have any of you honked on your horns lately? I guess for me, its weird because I feel like I use my horn a fair amount,(at least peripherally looking through my driving career) but I guess in the 3 months Ive had my 335 I just haven't!

Well the other day, some ASS(not auto stop/start LOL) decided to not look while changing lanes and almost caused a huge accident (with me as the primary victim...thank god for my cars agility and maneuverability!) on a major 4 lane road. Well luckily there was a construction area that was closed off where I escaped...I LAYED on the horn!!!!! and I was astounded. It sounds like a friggin bike horn...Girl horn...Just F'ing weird, to the point where I stopped honking because of how Feminine/queer sounding(no offense to anybody, just the only words I can use to describe it).

Normally I would have laid the horn down(because people nowadays never do, and if you make, what could be a life changing mistake on the road, I believe you should be ridiculed, by at very least, a horn) then cut the guy off...but this time I was frankly flabbergasted by the effect/horrible sound of the horn...I just sat in defeat thinking wow...really...thats my horn...I need a new car!!!

Have plans to install a mini train horn soon, will keep yall posted!

I'm surprised by your experience with the horn. In South Africa it's a daily norm to blow your hooter (Horn) at someone and quite frank the hooter on the F30 I'm currently driving is excellent, the loudest and gets your point across very clearly on the roads.

Unfortunately I seem to have to use my horn on a regular basis and have no complaints about the sound or loudness

I've used it to indicate to the driver ahead of me that hair and makeup time is over, the light is green and I like the sound. It's not obnoxious, almost a chord version of the horn note.

Hmmm . . . it sounds like a sedan horn to me.

What is a girly horn? Does yours giggle?

After the never ending steering feel threads now we get the "horn note" threads? This forum is getting better every day.

It may be that one of the 2 horns isn't working properly. My horn doesn't work at all currently and before that it sounded pretty bad. Have your dealer check it out.

My horn works perfectly. Maybe the horn adapts to the driver?

Its not thats its not loud, but the tone sounds like horrible...Just checked it on my pops f10 550...much better sounding. My horn sounds like a boat horn from 200 yards away..Kinda. My girlfriend agrees, it sounds weird. Her M3's horn sounds much better as well, but still higher pitch than the F10.

Yep I agree that it sounds like a boat. It's a good thing too. It really gets attention when needed in any situation lol...

Not to sound chauvinistic or anything, but a girl driving an M3 is so hot!

Never had any issue with my horn. It sounds decent.

I have considered a mod with a air horn from a truck or train though. If I use my horn, you REALLY screwed up (stop cutting into my lane when I'm doing 20mph faster than you). I want them to KNOW it. :-D

Tempting, but there is a downside; others on the road will look for a truck, not knowing the sound came from a sedan. This can make a situation worse as we identify vehicles by the type of horn sound.

Oh yeah!!! My buddy has one installed and hes going to bring his truck by to see if we can fit it in the bumper. He has the small train horn, from what he said its the air compressor that will be the biggest problem to fit.

your one fuse might be out...it should be louder.

They've replaced the fuse on my horn already once, it wasn't working at ALL at one point..ODD.
