Tiny crack on leather seat

I had a look at my seat today and I found a small crack about 2mm in size on the front part of the driver seat. It's nowhere near where I would normally sit down so there won't be any pressure applied that part of the seat.

My question is, will this eventually turn into a larger crack? I had something similar happen on my E90 where I had a 1" tear eventually turn into a 3" rip before I had an upholsterer repair it. I'd say right now, it's more like a slight puncture than a crack since it still seems intact, just that you can tell that it's sort of pushed in.

Does anyone know if this is covered under the BMW warranty? I have the saddle brown Dakota leather.

Sorry to say it but the leather cracks, that's what it does. I got leatherette for this reason. A photo would help tell u if it's normal.

Are you having a laugh?! The leather doesn't just crack within a matter on months.

Unless you have punctured it with something it's been flawed from the factory.

I suppose the battle you may face is proving when the crack happened.

I am not sure the ins and outs but I would be majorly unimpressed of they didn't resolve that. You paid more money for the premium interior. They should acknowledge this and ensure you have the car you paid for.

...unless of course you broke it !

Sorry, I am assuming op is being anal. And describing the typical leather wear mild crack, not a split in the seat. As said, need a pic.

show it to your dealer and see if they can replace. I had a Shiny area on the steering wheel of my 135i and they replaced the steering wheel.

take it to dealer. That might peel away over time.

Just like dermatology; treat it fast before it goes away on its own.

Looks more like dirt than a crack to me. Try using some mild leather cleaner/conditioner on it.
