Question Cost of BMW outside of US?

I live in the U.S. and I just bought a BMW 335i E30. I paid around $50,000 according to my sticker. I saw a post that a fellow bought a BMW like mine for $200,000. I don't know if that is local or US currency. If I may be so bold as to ask people outside the US what they paid for their 335i or 328i.

That's USD in Singapore. Luxury cars are nuts there.

It usually needs to be 'I paid XXX(X) over invoice' rather than 'XXXX below sticker' for it to be a good deal.

I paid $800 over invoice for my ED, which was 6K under the US sticker and 3K under the EU sticker

Hearing that a person can get $6K off of a BMW's sticker price on the first year of production does not sound promising for future resale. GM doesnt event discount like that. I'm happy for you that you were able to score a deal like this but this not good for BMW.

???

ED price is always cheaper than the regular sticker price. He got a really good discount off the ED price which is automatically significantly lower than the regulart sticker price.

It speaks more to markup than to resale value.

I got that, but $6K seems quite a lot. How much will they be discounting by the end of the cycle of the F30?

Regardless of whether its markup or not, heavy discounts leads to lower resale values.

Just worries me because BMWs used to not have to discount so much to get sales, especially in the first few years.

the ED crowd is big for BMW compared to other makes, but it's still a tiny group. most people in the US walk into the dealer friday or saturday wanting the car at the latest by sunday and I would imagine that a lot of them pay pretty close to sticker

getting a significant amount off will not affect resale value. Its not like you can walk in and ask for $6k off and they say OK! Its a lot of work and most buyers are not willing to go through that stress. Its easier with ED because whatever the dealer makes its pure profit and does not affect their allotment. You also have to factor those people who walk into to the dealer and take a fully loaded car at sticker, I work with a few of them.

Exactly. People on the forums tend to forget that we're literally a thousandth of a percentage of BMW's clientele.

Australia... official RRP for an F30 335 (non Msport): 98K+ AUD ... considering AUD to USD is comparable... we get shafted big time here on prices for all type of cars....

It's like comparing apples to oranges. Every country has different standard of living, different income, different taxes, and just different views on automobiles/transportation.

Base model 328i in Australia = $68 000 OTR.

Taxes in Australia are ridiculous on cars
