Pricing in Asia is just ridiculous!
We pay around $60000 to $70000 for a 335i depending on the config which is still more than our US friends.

It's those seventeen-foot tires that made it so expensive. That, and the ladder you need to climb in and out. Nice view, though, from the driver's seat.

-Strength of USD -Incredibly competitive automotive market -Extremely price sensitive customer base -Incredibly strong secondary market for finance/lease products- thank you wall street -Low interest rates -Very, very low taxes -Low fuel prices The bad news for us US customers and BMW is that a lot of these dynamics could soon change quite a bit. Not looking forward to $100k 3s and $150k 5s.

Well we in SA dont work with the over invoice system you guys have, we negotiate straight discounts with the dealership. On an F30 320i you would be able to get about $3781 discount. Roughly 8.5% to answer you
My 320i Msport with 18" wheels, HK sound, xenons and PDC is costing me $47805 after discount.

I think majority of buyers do pay sticker so it all balances out.

My 328i in Australia is about AU$80K with the spec thats in my signature. As $US and $AU is on parity this is about US$80K. So I am envious when I see what my US brethren pay for the same car.

I'm from Singapore and the 200,000 that OP mentioned was probably in a post of mine he saw.
When I ordered my 328i with the options stated in my signature, there was a bit of a discount so mine cost just a bit over S$220,000, which is currently ~US$176,000. The prices have gone up to S$240,000 (US$191,500), because there's no longer a discount and the COE (see below) has gone up by a few thousand. The 335i is another S$40,000, so that's S$280,000 - US$223,500. Yep, taxes are nuts in Singapore...so here's an approximately breakdown of the cost of my car: (a) my car's "base" cost - the Open Market Value (OMV) - is almost S$45,000 (US$36,000) (b) then there's a "tax" called the Certificate of Entitlement ("COE" - it's just a piece of paper permitting us to buy a new car) which fluctuates according to supply & demand; mine was $85,000 - US$68,000, but it's currently in the ballpark of S$95,000 (US$74,500) (b) add Customs duty of 20% + Additional Registration Fee (ARF) of 100% of the car's OMV - S$54,000 ($43,000) (c) add Goods & Services tax - 7% of Customs duty & OMV - $3,800 (US$3,000) (d) and finally, BMW's distributor's margin - in the region of S$30-50,000 (mine was discounted so they didn't make such a huge margin) - US$24,000-40,000. Looking at the prices in other countries, I know I'm paying a ridiculous amount....do I win the pity party?? Anyway, that's the price for driving such a beautiful car in Singapore.
