Dealership took two weeks to diagnose a bad injector
My wife's F30 328i with ~10,000 miles recently went in to the service department for rough idle and reduced power, with rpms fluctuating low enough that I actually thought it might stall. I told the SA on the phone the day after it was taken in that I expected it would be "fuel pump, injector, coil pack, or spark plug." He said they'd check it out.
Two weeks later and after countless hours of consultation with BMW techs in New Jersey, they finally figure out it's a bad fuel injector and replace it. Am I insane to think that's an unreasonable time to diagnose and fix what seemed like one of the most likely culprits? Mind you... I am not a wrenchy kind of person. Maybe it's a more complicated process than I realize.

Could be unreasonable, but I don't have their perspective on the matter. I also don't know if that symptom ties to any other problems that may be happening to other people's cars. I will say that after checking the basics, it shouldn't take two weeks to figure that problem out.

Picking it up now. Diagnosed leaking injector. Replaced all four. Software update, map update, checked brakes (ok), changed oil. At least they kept busy? 15 days.

The "loaner" was a beat up Altima from Enterprise that BMWUSA kindly paid for. This dealership tends not to have BMW loaners unless you call weeks in advance, this situation popped up during a commute and the car was driven straight there.

that sucks, my dealership doesn't seem to have an issue with loaning out bmws. At the end of the day, there always seems to be a line of them being returned. Ive had a service appointment the two times i went and got an f10 both times. I would be upset if I had to drive an Altima for two weeks. What is disturbing is the sea of bimmers strolling in for service as if it were a fast food restaurant.
