Looks promising aside from the nav screen. That just looks horrible. This is what happens when people complain about the nav hump in the e90/2. You complain about integrated navigation and BMW gives you a flat dash with a nav screen stuck on top with double-sided tape.

I wasn't a fan of the hump, but I think people were expecting a cleaner integration like the F01 7 series or F10 5 series. I like how the screen was setup in the new 6, but I'll reserve judgment on the F30 until I see some better shots of it.

Not impressed at all... the nav screen is even more awkward than the previous generation and below that nothing seems different or better.

Dissapoint...

People like it or complain, but after awhile everyone will want it.

Kind of like when the e46 went to e9x.

If they sell the manual-equipped F10 5 series in your region, you will almost surely get the the 3 series with manual also. If not, then I'd give it 50/50 at best.

The Nav may be optional but all the other functions that are part of iDrive would still need that screen.

BMW indicated that, going forward, all cars would have iDrive. But you could order the car without the Nav part of it.

That is the one thing about this *fixed* design that I don't like. Just sticks out like that, not flowing. It looks like a pop up (which I wish it was). Was hoping they'd do a "mini 5 series"! Oh well.

You are cross shopping a $100K sports car against an entry level luxury sedan?

I doubt it's the result of our complaining. The 5 and 7 series also had double "humps" before, and now they're integrated into the dash very well.

I don't know.. not so sure if I like the left side. Was hoping for a F10 kinda dash.

But it might be good in real life.

Well, from the way you wrote your post, it sure sounded like you were.

It will be a competitor of the 991 911 when the next gen m3 with the same or very similar interior comes out. I think ahead.
And a bit irrationally, it would seem. You expect a 3 series interior to measure up to a 911 interior? They don't in their current form, they haven't in the past, and it is not likely they will in the future.

That said, we don't even know if the F3x and F8x will share interiors. Given the rumored different model designations, anything is possible. For that matter, the F30 and F32 interiors might not even be the same either, given the rumored 3 series / 4 series split. They could very well be quite different as is the case with the 5 and 6 series.

Bottom line is it is way too early to make any conclusions about the F82 M4 interior, but I would not expect it to match that found in a high end sports car.
