Are they that much lighter than your stock setup? Also is the extra grip really noticeable?

My current setup is BMW 624m 20" rims with 225/35 and 255/30 tires. Hoping the ride on the HRE's is softer and the unsprung weight is lighter or at least equivalent with the wider tires.
Honestly from everything I heard I thought it would be more of a difference but I did notice a little bit more smoothed out ride. The grip is awesome now. Since you are coming from 20's you will get a more noticeable difference in feel and smoothness.

Next stop is sway bars to keep this tank from rolling side to side.
Before you do sway bars definitely add the M3 rear cross stabilizer (yes OEM, not expensive and it fits). There is a thread here on that somewhere. It makes a significant difference that the rear stability.

20 vs 19

Hey all - love the pics. I've got Melbourne red 335 sedan and am stuck in limbo between 19 and 20. My first thought is 20 is more wheel which = more awesome. But 19" would be cheaper, easier to find tires for, fit better, etc....

Any advice is appreciated. Going with Vossen CVT's in graphite, just need to pick a size so I can order.

Speaking of size, seems to be 9" front and 9.5" rear? Is that the safest/usual?

Hey TexasDobbins

Nice ride man!

When I got mine I went with 20's in 624M, 225 up front, 255 in the rear. They look awesome but IMO 20's are a hard ride.

Now I'm switching to 19's in HRE FF01's, 245 up front, 275 in the rear - which apparently is about as wide as you can go without fender rolling and more negative camber. I'm going ET 30 in the front and ET40 in the back for a more flush (maybe but of poke) look, so we'll see.

Thanks man!

I appreciate the feedback. I'm leaning 19" now. What width on the wheel are you thinking for front and rear? The CVT's come 8.5 or 10 in the 19" wheel only. Could I do 8.5 front and 10 rear?

Yup I've bought 19x8.5 et30 and 19x10 et40.

Going with 245/40 and 275/35 tires.

I've seen others go 245/35 and 275/30, but that's smaller than stock, while my choice is larger... 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, so I'm going up instead of down.
