Other that that it was easy.
On my car the exhaust note is not nearly as loud as the one in the video. I am still running a stock DP and cat. The sound is a little deeper and a little more aggressive than stock but it is still quite.
Good job! So how did u adjust the tip, did you have to "bend the tip" like slmdgee said? And is this cause the hanger placements are different from the stock muffler? Would be great if you could look at the two mufflers and compare the hanger locations etc!

Thanks for the pics, Addicted42!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of clamp did you use to attach the 335 muffler to the 328 center pipe? Will an OEM one work, or did you have a custom/aftermarket one?

Thanks again! Love this thread!

If the 335i stock muffler fit with minor modification, the 335i M performance should fit also ! Great !!!!!!!!!!

When we put the 335 muffler in the stock hangers the passenger side stuck out. You have a couple options at that point. You can cut that tip and shorten it about a half a inch and re weld it back on or you can cut an angle slit on the exhaust pipe and reweld it push one side back. I did not do any heating up the tips to bend them. Not sure what that is about.
We welded the 335 pipe to the stock pipe. We did not use a clamp. The 335 pipe is larger than the stock pipe so he had to just expand the 335 pipe ever so slightly and it slipped over the stock pipe then he welded it.
Hope that answers your questions.

Great info

So, is the difference in sound big? Notice any minor performance differences maybe, someone asked if this one might be more free-flowing than the 328i´s

Right, I read your thread. From what I understood here he had no fitment issues between the exhaust pipes it was more hangers and placement.

I just did. I'll post pics and some feedback once I get mine installed. I plan on using a factory clamp instead of welding tho.

How much larger in diameter is the 335i muffler piping compared to the 328i mid piping (where the 2 connect of course)?

Thanks. I think you're close but I just did a little research and it appears the 335i is 80mm and the 328i is 75mm. Basically a 0.2" difference.

335i exhaust clamp: 80mm, Part # 18307560815
328i exhaust clamp: 75mm, Part # 18307560781

Hopefully there's enough play in the 328i exhaust clamp to fit around the 335i pipe.
