Best brake pads for MPerf BBK

Hi Guys,

Can you help me and suggest some brake pads that you have used on your car and can recommend. I have MPerf brake kit.

If you have part number that would help significantly.

What are your goals: reduce brake dust? Less squeal?

I use Porterfield R4S which are formulated for Hi Perf/HD Street (I don't track my car)

https://www.porterfield-brakes.com/
  • For high performance and heavy duty street conditions the Porterfield R4-S compound remains a top performer in the realm of street/performance brake pads.
  • With the R4-S compound giving a friction level up to .41. This is an amazingly fast stopping brake pad. Simply put, they will give you an impressive increase in stopping ability with very minimum amount of pedal effort.
  • Perfect for prolonged everyday street driving while also being capable of enduring the most severe use without fade. It is also rotor friendly of course.
  • We have gone to great measures to ensure that the R4-S compound has the absolute lowest noise and dust levels possible, far below O.E.M. equipment or any other high performance brake material.
  • The R4-S compound which has an overall win in the Baja 1000 is available for most models of cars, trucks, and SUV’s. Superb stopping power under heavy use. Great for occasional autocrossing, solo events, off road events and rallies. Perhaps one of the overall best performing, clean and quiet everyday high performance driving brake pad ever made.

How's the dust with the R4S? I'm considering it for my next street pad.

Very little - not down to the level of ceramic pads (which is low & usually very light in color), but no where near OEM pads. My wheels are black so even at that the dust doesn't show up so well

I had the CoolCarbon ceramic pads with all new rotors prior to the R4S and for stopping power they sucked + after a couple thousand miles they started to make noise on light braking & groaning upon braking in reverse

On my previous BMW I used the Akebono Ceramic pads & never had a problem with these issues, but unfortunately, they don't make them for my app

You'll never get the stopping power with a set of ceramics that you get with the Porterfields

Centric Posi Quiet Semi-metallic is good for me. Part no. Front 104.16090 rear 104.16560. From my experience performance is on par to oem but less dust and more quiet. It’s very cheap.

I got HAWK HPS 5.0 BRAKE PADS.

Good bite, and my dust problem is 1000% better than OEM pads.

I run the stock M3/M4 brake pads in my M Sport Brake Option. Does not squeal in the spring, summer, or fall, and is track worthy in B run groups. The only downside is that it dusts a lot.
