It won't just be you Grant if you are still at 1200, I just checked....

The current status of your new BMW 440i M Sport Gran Coupe is 1200 Scheduled for Production. Production is currently scheduled to commence on the week beginning 22nd August 2016. This is subject to change

Been that way since I ordered on 22 July.

Others have said that the change to 5000/5055 happened right on the day of production.

Anyway, any idea of the timeframe before Status 5100 (Bodyshop start)? Where's Rukka when you need him...?

Mine has moved to 5055 between 9 and 12 today

You should be able to get the VIN from BMW Genius, Grant - they gave me mine once it moved to 5055. Manuals not available in MyBMW yet though.

I'm with you on the 5100 question...and wondering how often I should now bug Genius for further updates...

VIN seems to get issued a week before build start.

Get the VIN and work it backwards on BMWVIN.com.

They take about 8 hours to update on there though so once you see a VIN number 2 before yours has been built, ask the genius and you will probably be at Bodyshop start.

It shows its build date when it gets to final assembly (when engine and drivetrain mated with body)

I know mine was built (Bodyshop) and painted on 9th July but build date was shown on 10th. It also left the factory on the 10th.

It was at the dealers 8 days after

Not long now mate and all the waiting and frustration will be forgotten as soon as you drive it

I had to get my vin from my dealer. The "Genius" could give me everything but the last 7 digits... Useful eh?...

Okay this is more addictive than the bloody BMW Genius!!!

So a VIN 9 digits before mine was built today. Guess what I'm going to be tracking tomorrow...

Thought i would try the same trick - a car with a VIN 100 before mine was built in June and 10 before mine isn't built yet, but 17 back was built yesterday. Addictive...yep

I believe that you may be correct re the summer shutdown. The 18 VINS before mine don't show a production date, the 19th shows 16/8/16 and then there is a jump to the 20th which was produced 29/7/16.

Glad it's not just me that is conducting productivity checks first thing this morning! No movement in my VIN number range either.

24/7 must just refer to the opening hours of the staff casino, not the line itself
