Downpipes available for 2014 4" Outlets

Does anyone know what downpipes are available for the larger 4" outlets found on the newer 2014 electronicly wastegated turbos?

It seems that most manufactures list on a single downpipe for 2012+. It's been a year it would be awesome to see some options for us with slightly newer cars.

I forgot about that announcement. I would prefer a HiFlo catted DP, but maybe I'll look into this option.

I have 3 year until I need to do emissions and replacing the downpipe is way easier than the N54.

ER also available in Hi Flow Cat.
You just need to wait for it as they don't stock the catted version.
PM me if you are interested.

Nice to have some good options out there... I am eagerly anticipating the CG Precision offering - especially with the CEL defeater module that they're working on to go with it!

If your going to get a dp even high flow cats cause check engine lights and won't allow u to pass emissions. Keep that it mind u might just wanna go catless and should be cheaper

I have BCS automotive hi flo cat DP on my EWG car here in the UK and no CEL.

Also, Wagner website says their hi flo cat DP doesn't cause CEL.

Have heard catless DP and it sounds too raspy. Hi flo cat is the fit and forget solution which gives up a slight power/torque to decat but IMHO sounds much better.

Just keep in mind that, especially in states where emissions are tough, aftermarket hiflow cats have a very short lifespan before they don't do enough to let you pass sniffer test, even if you pass visual.

Im considering a hi flow catted DP as well that does not set off a CEL.

Which ones the best? I.e. offers the best hp, best sound and no CEL for sure.

TIA

What exhaust is on after the cat?

Krelle,

Car is not old enough yet to be tested so cannot answer your 1st question.

OEM mid pipe is still in place connected to the hi flow DP and I have axle back MPE muffler.

Combination makes the engine more responsive and gives the sound more volume and character.

Pawe,
Thanks. My concern is the drone.. I had a little on the stock system when I forced both end pipes open.
With the Akrapovic there is no drone at all.

Ref. what "Shiftec" write. I wonder what the lifespan of the catted is, and whether this can be taken out and cleaned, thus "resetting it"?
If it can't one migth just try non cat as the change of dp cannot be avoided.
Have you heard the M135 with catless? How much louder is it? And is the drone worse than yours?
Cheers Krelle

Krelle,

Never heard of cats being reset. If they get clogged, they fail and need replacing unlike say DPF's on diesel cars that need regeneration/cleaning.

Having ran an N54 335i for 5years + ~ 70k miles with assorted mods, including sports cat DP's, the cars emissions were never a problem. In UK, once a car is 3 years old it gets inspected. Emissions are measured and were constant in years 3, 4 & 5.

I have heard decatted M135i in the flesh and it sound similar to an E46 M3 in terms of rasp and being slightly "tinny". Not for me hence why I went with sports cat DP. Drone that occurs at 2k RPM with stock system is still there, no better no worse. No drone anywhere elsewhere in the rev range.

Hope this helps,

PD

Pawe,
Thank you. Guess we're of the same opinion regarding noise.

Yes, the stock system did have a little drone at 2000. The Akra doesn't.

Now I can go shop for a catted dp.

N54 335....

@Krelle,
I went to visit Evolution Racewerks yesterday afternoon and got a chance to asked them regarding carted downpipe.
Their answer was, hi flow cat still may throw a CEL and may not pass emission control. They never went through with one, since most customer wanted the catless since it is better for the performance.
Let me know if you need to get one.
