Finally re-delivered in the US after Aug 20 ED

After dropping my car in Munich on August 20, (thread here: Aug ED Trip ) I've been anxiously tracking it's progress to the US. I received an email from Adrian Avila on Thursday the 27th to let me know my car arrived at the dealership--so I promptly booked a one-way ticket to ATL for Saturday morning. I met Adrian at the airport and he took me back to BMW Mini of South Atlanta. The car looked just as good as she did when I left her in Munich on August 20...except, of course, for the addition of the red "M" brakes...they look fantastic...massive...they really fill the 18s nicely and the red looks great (but holy sh*t, they create a TON of brake dust!). After about 10 minutes of work to make the final preparations and install a temp tag I was on road. On the drive back to Cincinnati I got re-acquainted with the car and made some real headway on the break-in miles. I installed my black M performance grilles and front reflectors this afternoon...discovered that the "dark shadow" rear reflectors I received from IND were for the standard F30, not the M Sport...so I need to exchange those. I have some more work in store for later this week. Hard to believe the car is finally in my garage! I will post more pics later this week.

Awesome! I can't wait to see mine in person in two weeks. Seeing others like yourself is keeping me sane while I wait

Thanks! Yes, but only relatively mild mods. On Sunday I installed the black M Performance kidney grilles, match-painted front reflectors, (I had to return the match-painted rear reflectors, waiting for replacements), I just got back from the tint shop to install 20% tint on the side and rear windows this morning, my H&R Sport springs were just delivered today, M Performance exhaust should be delivered next week along with my 19" gunmetal/machined F10 M5 reproduction wheels. I will have the springs and exhaust installed next week, so that will be it for any modifications until the M Performance Power Kit is released (Nov/Dec, hopefully?). On the interior, I might install the M Performance pedal kit to match the M Sport dead pedal/foot rest and do the enable coding for Sirius, as I forgot to add that as a port-installed option.

So how to the Performance brakes feel, vs. the standard M-sport brakes that you got to experience while on ED?

Even though I added the brakes as a port-installed accessory at invoice price, they were still too much money...BUT, they look great, I don't have any regrets! I blew past my original self-imposed budget a LONG time ago when I switched from looking at used E90s to doing a Euro Delivery on a stripped F30 328i Sport, then to a loaded 328i M Sport, to finally changing my order to a well optioned F30 335i M Sport...I figured if I am going to do it, I might as well go all the way...and so far, I don't regret it a bit.

funny, I did something very similar. My plan was to get a CPO 335D E90....then the F30 came out, I hated the exterior, but loved the interior...So waited for the M sport, and Damn it's good looking in pics. I'm just doing the PCD, but leaving tomorrow for that!!! And 335i FTW, so much wonderful music and thrust.

Nice car! I didn't realize it took so long to get the car after ED, but I guess that makes sense...

Personally, I prefer the red. So far, they've been a real hit. Funny story, yesterday afternoon I was in the parking lot at my office showing the car to a colleague and my boss rolls up from a meeting in his '12 750Li X-drive M Sport, he pulls up next to my car and before he can even get out of the car he says "WHAT THE F__K!? Look at those f__ing brakes! I want those brakes..." as he looked at the rusty/dusty, gray calipers on his 750 and then compared to the beefy red, clean calipers and big drilled/slotted rotors on the 335.

The wait is tough, but well worth it. I definitely spent an inordinate amount of time on here trying to ease the pain by looking at everyone else's vehicles...hopefully I can post pics with the H&R Sport springs and M exhaust this weekend. Not sure if the new wheels will arrive before I head out for a trip to SE Asia late next week, but if they do, I will certainly post pics of the finished product.

how do you like the 6MT? I can't decide between the auto and 6MT. I have the 8 speed auto in my 2012 X5 and its good but i don't see the need for 8 gears.. half the time i forget i have the 2 extra gears. How's the clutch is it smooth? it would be my first stick car.

I love it, I've never owned an automatic, and this is one of the better manual transmissions I've owned. The clutch is pretty light and smooth, I wouldn't mind if it was a bit stiffer/heavier, but I'm not complaining...the clutch pedal throw is a bit long (easily solved as detailed here: Short throw clutch stop) Shifts are smooth and easy, relatively quick and crisp.
