Disable anti dazzle mirror

Does anyone know how to disable the anti dazzle function for the centre mirror in the car?

The mirror darkens when light shines into it... I just couldn't get used to it... I could disable it at the press of a button on my last Golf GTI...

Seriously? It is a great feature. Had it in my E90 as well. Because of the inbuilt sensor, I doubt you or I could disable it. Maybe the dealer by changing 'codes' or something similar, but I doubt they would want to disable it.

Give it a little more time. Hopefully you will get used to it. It is very good and responds both ways very quickly.

You can stick something over the sensor if you're really desperate. Might look a bit ghetto though.

It can give a false sense at night but it's worth it IMO as I hate being dazzled. Got it on the door mirrors as well. You'll get used to it.

Hmmm any suggestions what would the best way to test this. As I found driving in front of ppl at night the interior mirror dims but not the "wing" ones.

I may be wrong here, but I believe if you have upgraded to the anti-dazzle wing mirrors, they have the folding function (an extra button next to the mirror selector for adjustment). If you just have the basic mirrors, you won't have the folding button.

I would have thought the wing ones dim in similar conditions to the rear view ones. they should be anti dazzle and folding by default for 328s though

My old (not old, old but recently sold) E90 had the same dimming setup. Yes the exterior mirrors would dim, but only to the extent of high beams not dazzling me from behind. Maybe they did not even dim, perhaps they had an anti dazzle coating on them. Or both.

Same setup in the F30.
