Downpipe Sound Difference VRSF vs Catless ER

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

I know that the gains from the Catless DPs are almost ideentical but, what about the sound?

Does the ER sounds different because of the overall larger diameter?
Or is it the same?

They're the same diameter based on year.

Yes but for example, the ER is larger in the middle and then goes down to the target diameter. Does that difference in size affects any drone or sound? Thanks

I have the ER, love the sound and enhanced the MPE for sure. VRSF is cheaper probably, but unsure of thickness of the steel impacts the sound drastically.

Thickness of metal would have significant impact on sound.

Good, and which would sound deeper or better?

I know that both are great products but i'm kinda picky when it comes to exhaust sound.

What would be the difference between these 2 Mike? You can answer me via PM if you want.

Thickness of the metal used would not matter so much when compared to the cross sectional geometry of the downpipes. The Wagner/ER increase in diameter between the inlet/outlet, where as the VRSF seems to stay at a constant diameter throughout. I have a wagner and I'm happy with the resulting sound. I don't think there will be much of a noticeable difference between the sounds though...That would be more dependent upon your resonator/muffler setup once you have the downpipe.

The thicker the downpipe is in the middle the deeper the sound will be
It wont be night and day difference though

Based on that Wagner should have the deepest sound, then ER then VRSF

We use the same thickness of metal, same gauge and all. Our tubing goes from 4" down to 2.5" as well. Sound will be identical. Please beware of opinions from vendors who only sell one vs both brands. Anyone who sells both ER and VRSF will have positive reviews for both brands.

Just to clarify i was not talking about the thickness of the metal like it was mentioned by Mike@n54

I was talking about the downpipe design, VRSF has a smooth transition while other designs get wider in the middle of the DP.

No worries Mike, I was referring to Mike@N54 and kevinjt's comments regarding thickness of material.

I plan on doing a direct comparison video with my buddy who has an VRSF installed. I'll open a new thread when ready. Thanks for the comments all!
