whish this would be available on the M3/M4 also. The bat-like seats look hideous on those cars.

Holy!!! Interior is stunning congrads on the purchase!!

A little confused, this was/is an Individual? what you mean by:

"The downside, for me, was that I then couldn't have the standard dash trim and needed to choose between the various wood grains or piano black. I hate wood grain, so PB it was."

I thought you tell them what you want, and BMW tells you to empty your wallet......therefor you get Exactly what YOU want

Carbon fiber looks cheap to me, it's tacky and looks fake, not to mention the interior looks plasticky, nothing pops other than the piping on the seats

And it's a free world, so everyone has their own views - which is welcomed and fair enough. I like it and that's all that matters to me

Thanks for sharing your views!

Cuz5150, Individual in Germany or some parts of Europe is that tailored, yes. However, in Australia BMW makes a selection of choices available. If you're interested, I can put a photo of the page from the 3 series booklet up to show you the choices we get.

If you're really interested (and want to depress yourself even more), the BMW Individual App on iTunes shows ALL the options available, including your name embroidered into the headrests (urk).

Again, thanks everyone for your comments.

No, it's not carbon fibre leather, it's (what I now know to be) rough carbon fibre. It's the genuine BMW CF Interior Trim Kit.

To SkipSauls, thanks for the explanation, to the others who have asked questions, apologies if I have missed answering you, it's hard to keep up!

To my American friends lamenting the fact that you can't get this trim, be happy with your low prices and low interest rates , as we're envious of those. However, let's not get into that debate!

Why..?
We still have fake chrome accents, that do zero for the driver. At least CF is organic, has texture and is natural looking.

Carbon Fiber itself will never look old, or tachy. (But too much of anything is gaudy.)

My choice was simple, I just wanted blue contrast stitching on black Dakota to match the blue finishers.... This CAN'T be TOO difficult, sportline gets red contrast, why do we LOSE detail when spending MORE on M-Sport???

If you saw the detail in the output from my VIN decoded build sheet, you'd realise the level of choice available to someone (presumably) in the interior colours and leathers. Alas, not for us 'normal' folk

I assume that was a rhetorical question? If not, I have NFI. Why not ask jmh, post above yours?

Outstanding. Doesn't get any better than that.
I would lose the "M Performance" badge on the dash though. It looks a little out of place. But overall, it is spot on.

I've yet to hear any confirmation that the Individual Program will be offered on the 3 and 4 series in the United States. I've only seen it for the 5, 6, 7, and M series. Anyone here have any info about this?
