that $2,995 kit is absolutely gorgeous!

The thing about the intake now is that the MHD tune coming out for the N55 only recommends upgraded FMIC or HFDP for 390HP and both for 430HP... no where does it say to upgrade the air-intake.... Hmmmm

Well that's just the minimum required to flash those tunes. Doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't upgrade more parts. A more free flowing cat back exhaust always helps! As does a higher flow air intake or air filter even for example K&N filter in the stock housing will get you a bit more air in your engine which can at least help with throttle response.

I completely understand that... but these CEL thing is concerning and until I see reports with the new tune and aftermarket intakes I'll just wait maybe... unless I can buy a genuine bmw upgrade... I've read that the oil for the K&N has to be applied correctly or will screw up sensors if too much, so I'll avoid that... It's not the money($2,995 still too much though...lol) ... just the least headache the better... I can wait for reviews.. 390/ 430HP should be enough for now...

Oh yea definitely. Like I said tho I went with CTS Turbo mostly for the sound of the DV ! And also their promise of no issues. 10k miles and just like they promised great sound no CEL and no other issues whatsoever.

I've been using a K&N oil drop in filter in my stock 335 airbox with zero issues. Just follow the instructions, don't go crazy with the oil and you'll be fine. I was going to go aftermarket intake but the K&N filters are that good where I wouldn't even bother at this point. I'd rather spend the money on an aftermarket CP or DP.

Thanks for the reply... I totally agree with you after more and more I read and searched Youtube I feel an upgraded filter is all you need for the Hp I'll be going for ... probably go with the AFE Pro_Dry S... just because...

Not exactly. Even if modifications don't impact a deficiency, the Dealer won't always agree with you and refuse to fix it. Your recourse then is to try a different dealer, complain to BMWNA, accept it, or go to court.

My Dinan intake is nothing more than an expensive modified stock intake with a drop in oiled filter and carbon fiber bling. I didn't notice any difference between it and the stock intake, either in performance or sound (at least it doesn't cause any malfunction lights). In retrospect, I would just use a K&N drop in.
