Performance shift knob with leather boot?

  • Does anyone know if you can use the stock leather shift boot with the M performance knob? I'm not a "Alcantara" person. TIA

You can do anything you want.

The knob and boot are bonded together, so they will need to be separated and reattached. Zip tie, glue, C clip, do whatever you like.

I'd start with the least favorite knob and see how they go together before committing to the project. Also FYI, the knob sometimes needs an absurd amount of upwards force to remove from your car.

OK thank you for that and yes I've heard of people knocking themselves out or getting a black eye trying to get the knob off
