Turbo Upgrade (Vargas Turbo)
Has anyone installed any of the Vargas turbos in their f30 335, if so:
1) How is it? 2) Vargas's site says the turbo is not detectable by the dealer, is that true? 3) Are there any other upgrades required with the turbo upgrade? |

Not really sure, I had dynoed it but the car wasn't running properly due to wrong firmware, needed flex fuel wires, ect. It was my only free day so I had to force it. It kept breaking up on dyno do to lack of fuel and only went to 15psi. Made 360hp 420tq.
Once I got everything running properly it def feels 430+hp @ 21psi. I pulled on a new M5 so its def quick. Only running 93pump gas and meth injection too. |

Actually you don't need it for stage1 turbo upgrade. I ran into HPFP issues when running greater than E35 mixture. I thought this could either be the LPFP not being able to provide enough fuel to the HPFP. However it turned out it was not LPFP issue. Because with the new stage2 walbro I have the same issue. However SteveAZ from fuel-it is working on a HPFP upgrade for N55 as well. I figure once i have pure turbo stage2 on the car and want to run max boost on it both LPFP and HPFP upgrades are required. Not sure if the stock LPFP would suffice with the HPFP upgrade. Keep in mind that I am running meth since stock turbos so meth is already assisting the stock fuel system.

I'm waiting for the Pure Turbos Stage 2, so I don't have to pay for Install twice. Will just be installing meth on the OEM Turbo for the time being! Guess my plans will be for PT Stage 2 with the LPFP/HPFP Upgrade from Fuel-It to prevent any fueling issues! Thanks! |

Waiting to see what Pure releases for Stage 2. May pick up a replacement turbofold for port, polish and ceramic coating and then install that. Or maybe just a Stage 1.

Based on my prior dealings with Vargas, I would steer clear of his products.
The guy knowingly let me install his defective stage two turbos's in my E92 335i. They were beast for a couple weeks but leaked oil like the Deepwater Horizon rig in the gulf of Mexico. That being said, you're going to want lots of air flow and cooling happening with an upgraded turbo. You will also need to upgrade charge pipe and intercooler to handle the extra boost. Hi flow down pipe and exhaust is a must. |
