Car cranks almost starts but not turning on
So yesterday i drove about an hour and a half back home , stopped by chipotle to get some food took like 10 mins inside and when i came back out to turn my car on it wouldn't start . it would only crank but not turn over . thought it was a battery issue , had a friend come try n jump start it and nothing only cranks but sounds like its about to turn on . Car has half tank of gas. 2015 BMW 335 x drive
I checked codes from bm3 and the following codes poped up : - 135b11 - valvetronic server motor, control phase v:linebreak - 134f10 - valvtronic adjustment range:stop not learned due to environmental conditions -21a23 - combustion engine : false start -1fb101 - power management : battery has fallen bellow the starting limit - 213a21 - vehicle electrical system voltage Got the car towed to my house and purchased a new battery . Put the new battery in and programmed the battery via bimmerlink Flashed car to stock tune & reset codes and tried to turn the car on again . Still cranking but car does not start. Checked the codes again and only 1 codes pops up now -21a23 - combustion engine :false start Note: car has slight valve cover leak idk if that has anything to do with it , after reading through forums and people that have similar issues im guessing its the Valvtronic servomotor or a fuel pump issue . The car did have an issue when i drove for long periods of time it would shut off on highway but turn right back on for about 2 years ( happened only like 4 times ) I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and give some advice |

I would check for spark and fuel delivery. Your last issue (long period of driving) seems to be related to the valvetronic motor.

I'm suspect of the valvetronic motor being the issue. Unless it failed at fully closed, the throttle body would act as a backup to get the car running.
I bet a dollar the low pressure fuel pump took a shit. Electric motors rarely fail once running. But they regularly fail to start once shut down. Lock the car and go inside for 30 minutes. Come outside, crawl under the back of the car. Hit the unlock button. If the low pressure pump is working, it will prime when you hit unlock You will hear a dull hum noise coming from the fuel tank. |
