Great news!

I have tried to get BMW Aus to help me with the M Performance exhaust for 335i - I wanted to know: (BMW answer in blue)

1. Warranty situation of I purchased BMW part from bmrautowerkes and had fitted by an independent BMW specialist - As this exhaust is a non-genuine part, it will not be covered under New Car Warranty. It won’t void the New Car Warranty on the rest of the vehicle, unless it directly causes any issues with any other parts. .

2. I asked for RRP of exhaust as I have not been able to get my dealer to give me a price ( and they wanted more than $6K for PPK). - It would be best to contact your local BMW Dealership and speak to the parts manager in regards to prices for the M Performance Exhaust

If they would set some RRP then we wouldn't have to go through this BS.

I would prefer to purchase both through dealer and have it fitted by dealer to eliminate warranty issues and insurance problems.

Perhaps you could PM the email address of the BMW exec and I could follow up with him - it took me 2 weeks to get the crap information out of BMW in the first place.

My understanding on the US suspension was that it only applies to cars built in the last few months or those leaving the factory now, and that if your F30 was more than a few months old you could still get it fitted...could be wrong though.

No indication given on timing but I interpreted that email as suggesting the kit was already available or the release was imminent.

I will email him to check on timing. I am kind of reluctant to hassle him too much, but when my query was forwarded directly to him from higher powers i think he felt compelled to respond quickly! They are aware from my first email that people on forums like this are very interested in this kit so I assume they will make some sort of song and dance when it comes out.

Sounds promising indeed. Nice work Blue75.

Hi all. A couple of days ago I put my 335i to my nearest dealer for its first check up and I asked the senior SA about the PPK plus other M Performance parts. At first he admitted he don't know what that is but by the end of the day when I picked up the car he printed out the M Performance parts brochure and told me he can check the price for me if I email him the parts that I am interested in (he tried to give me his b&w print out to go through it with me but I told him I got a soft copy off the net and read through it many many times!). I just emailed him with the list, including PPK of course. I also asked the question about whether they'll accept if I buy the parts somewhere else and have them to do installation for me only. So let's see what he'll come back with. BTW mine is a 2012 June build so it'll need a new DME. (also due to the early build it was subjected to a service campaign which upgraded the software that day and it totally changed the characteristic of the car but it's a separate topic altogether)

Thanks and great work Blue75 I'll update this thread once I got the response back from the SA. Hopefully it'll be indeed under $2000.

Got an "out of office" bounce back initially and tried again recently but silence so far. Might just try ringing the dealer again.

Supposedly, BMW are putting this through Australian certification, but I disbelieve this more and more as the months march on.

Apparently our ADRs are SOOOOO tough that BMW Australia has not yet achieved compliance!! Not holding my breath……

Pretty poor that we can access all the M Performance parts here but that BMW Australia will not cover any warranty issues related to them.

Looking at other options because I think I will have sold my car by the time the PPK becomes available…...

I'm sure it's typical BMW Australia, fark all would have changed as it's all too hard.

We've been asking the same thing for quite some time now!

The rationale is that it hasn't been approved to comply with ADR and they won't do so because the market is so small and costs prohibit it.

That price is just obscene:

"BMW M PERFORMANCE POWER KIT, INSTALLED $1,097.00" - from a UIS dealer site
