No M sport does not come with black grills, they are a 173 add on.

That sounds too good to be true. Very non-BMW like.

Financially it doesn't make sense not enough money there, I would think the price would be more around $2500-$2700 for that package

I work for Sam Swope BMW in Louisville, ky and my none of my management have any ideal what this package includes lol. I just ordered my 335i yesterday and was able to add the PPK. It took us a week to get it ordered and part of the reason I believe is I was trying to add black kidney grilles and M exhaust. Turns out they are actually included in the PPK kit...hopefully. BMW has been doing some odd things this year.

I mean for 1370 it seems cheap

You should still be able to add it before it gets to the VPC

The thread you pointed does speak about the added cooler, but it references that all Msports get the cooler not just the ones with summer tires.
Even with the added cooler, I don't see how that would affect top speed limit. Cooling is more important at lower track speeds than at high highway speeds where there is plenty of airflow.
It makes sense that the speed limiting factor is the lower speed rating of the AS tires.
H rating is good for up to 130mph.
V rating is up to 149mph.
W rating is 168mph, and then there is Y for 186 and 186+.
To have the 155mph limiter the tires have to be at least W rated.
The AS tire options are V rated, thus they have to have a lower speed limiter.

If anyone finds anything more on this cooler having relation to the speed limiter please post.
I'm very interested in knowing if there is a relationship and why.
Please post if you find something on that.

If there is something with an added cooler that will be news to me.

Well you'll can't have Increased Top Speed Limiter (840) without summer tires. And it is well known fact that Sport Line and M-sport cars have an extra cooler on the driver's side lower intake (where fog light would be) when they have summer tires. So the logical conclusion to be drawn is that option code 840 for Increased Top Speed Limiter adds the extra cooler.

if that's the case, i'm going to flip out on my dealer. I highly doubt that though...they would be literally discounting it 50% off of MSRP.

Garage List
I have a sportline with sport auto and I just checked my tires. Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSR Y rated. I'm guessing my speed limit would be 155. Still curious if I need the additional cooler for the PPK.

Can someone confirm if the PPK includes the exhaust and black out grill. I would be surprised as much as any if that was the case.

Thanks

So you are saying that you actually added just the PPK and the black kidney grilles and M exhaust are included with it? How much did that cost you to add it to your order? Is it actually $1300+ for everything?

My car is in route to the VPC and I added Z3B and my dealer couldn't add grilles or exhaust bc they were included in the package. I think everyone is unsure if it is just a glitch at this point or a gift. I would think this is a glitch but if everything is on my car when it arrives I won't be asking any questions.

After my experience today with new parts for the f30,I would be even more incredulous.

BMWUSA has a light if not nonexistent grip on what fits the f30s, what part numbers are correct, and what things cost.

I will ask my dealer to ask the local rep about this for those that already purchased the grill and exhaust for a retroactive program...

All f30s have the cooler, it's a myth that it only comes with sportline or m-sport.

Really? So the extra oil cooler is as SamS pointed to is incorrect? http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=647310

And actually, at the end, Mahzari quotes e90fleet as saying all 335's have the extra oil cooler.
