Yeah the exhaust finishers on the F30 are too low or bumper bottom too high... looks awkward.

Yo,

I dont want to see the M Sport anymore. I really really REALLY like it man! I wish we had the lemon law or something where I can go in and trade in my current F30 for the M Sport.

Guess I'm being "greedy eh?

Seriously, the M Sport in EB with SB/Beige interior (I know its not possible) and the Anthracite wood trim...wow, that would be a sweet looking car. Add on the M Sport brakes, 19" wheels and BC racing springs...

Just dreaming here...

Almost everything about the E90's interior is better except the position of the iDrive controller. That buried iPad in the dash looks really cheap and totally exposed to glare.

As far as the exterior is concerned, the rear end of the F30 is superior. I don't know if I'll ever like the new front end with that Frankenstein line across the hood. Probably less noticeable on a darker paint.

Not so sure about the rear bumper on the F30; I would like to see it in the flesh before deciding.

As for the interior, the F30 instrument cluster has returned to a more traditional layout with four circular gauges. The aluminum trim, especially in the F30, will likely present reflection issues for those who choose this trim.

The F30 M Sport steering wheel looks fantastic !
I drive in sunny Florida all the time and have never had an issue with the aluminum trim. It is somewhat matted and not reflective at all.

Great thread, great comparison.
I love my Alpine White/Coral Red E92 MSport. The F30 just doesn't do it for me yet. I'll have to wait for the coupe...then I can totally compare.

still think the LCI tails on the e90 are much better. I like how they come to a point on the trunk. Also do not like the rear reflectors on the f30.

Nicely done Sir! Love those color schemes too. Then again I like cars with red interior seats.

The E90 can still keep up as far as looks is concerned. Still a beautiful car.

Garage List
E90 - more luxury-orientated with the softer lines of the body
F30 - much more aggressive/sporty-orientated.

I can't say which is better because they're obviously catering to different people tastes.

Looks like the steering wheel roundel on the F30 has already faded, lol.

Nice comparos, especially that the two cars are "like-for-like" in both exterior and interior. While the F30's interior is somewhat more modern and complex, think the E90's interior will age better over time (simple ages better). Same situation for the exterior.

yeah that is my big gripe,
but otherwise F30 seems better designed aesthetically.
although as someone else mentioned, the interior door trim pieces on the e90 (the shapes/materials) look better than the F30s, the other thing is simple things like the trunk arm mechanism on the e90 is obviously a more complicated hydraulic assisted arm that swivels up and away nicely, i always liked that, when compared to mechanisms like the one on this F30 or like on my wife's is250 which just goes straight up.
little touches like that always made my e90 feel more special than my wife's is250, well that and the way it drives haha...
