PLEASE NEED HELP....Chargepipe
So I'm installing my new chargepipe and can't seem to get it in unless I remove the AC line. Is it safe to remove the AC line so I can have better leverage when installing my new chargepipe. The AC line is the black pipe with a silver end going into the compressor.

I noticed you were also having trouble with that metal canister hanging off the rear of the AC compressor in another post
Must be an AH3 thing as neither the line nor the canister were any problem on my F32 N55 with ER CP install I would NOT remove the AC line unless you feel like paying someone to recharge your AC system...

Strictly speaking if you remove that line without first evacuating the Freon you are committing a crime. You can't release R-134a to the atmosphere. You'll also need to pay someone with a Mobile AC EPA card to recharge the system.
Functionally speaking, you'll blow refrigerant and oil all over the engine compartment and have a heck of a mess. If there's any leak detection dye in your system you'll have a truly impressive heck of a mess. |

BMW Official Documentation for CP change are identical for AH3 and 335i as documented in links in other threads....as OP has started multiple threads on same issue.

Unbolt the AC compressor and move it out of the way. There's enough slack in the lines to give you clearance without dumping the charge. ETA: Also Click through on that newtis site to the part about removing the AC compressor on an AH3. There are notes about the High Voltage plug, as well as intake ducting that look like they will make your life easier. Last edited by dogmush; 03-16-2018 at 02:52 PM.. |
