Injen intake n26 MAF sensor/drivetrain malfunction. 2015 428i

So I got an "drivetrain malfunction" on my bmw the other day and it told me to drive moderately to a service center. the car kept stuttering and not responding when I pressed the gas. it was an extreme loss of power. so I took it to my bmw dealer and it came to be due to the MAF sensor, saying there was too high air flow and high air intake temp. I have the n26 Injen intake on my 428i GC 2015. and the dealer did not want to touch my car because they attributed it to it. so they are going to put the stock one back on and hopefully itll clear up the fault and my car could be back to normal

any similar issues with a injen intake?

The issue is not brand specific, happens with any intake on this car. You could always try the BMW intake and see if you get the same thing.
I also heard with a JB4 installed, you dont get any malfunction

Thanks mike, would it be that bad that it would cause a driving malfunction? Imma return it to stock and see if it clears it. Thanks for your input and putting me at ease !

Is this a common issue with after market "cold air" intakes and the N26 engine? I was looking at purchasing a injen c/a intake, but I have the N26 engine as well.
I have a AA Active 8 piggyback coming this Friday, and I wanted to complement the box with a new intake, but if there is a chance of a drive train malfunction I would rather stay stock....

It could yes. Having a Jb4 usually fix the issue

You can try it and if it causes problem, just return it.

Some users experience a slight issue with the intakes on stock vehicles. A tune usually clears up that gap for potential problems. Unfortunately it is hit or miss with these cars.

I have experienced an intermittent check engine light with the injen intake installed. I'm wondering if it is due to the intake, its a code I've never seen and no one seems to know what it is.

Do you have a tune or any other modifications?

What is the specific code?
