Independent shop recommendations in NJ
Need to do brake fluid and rear brake changes. I would normally do it myself but it is just too cold. I am in CNJ. I did call one and their rate was $98 an hour and quoted 3 hours for brake fluid and rear brakes and I supply parts.
Does this sound about right? |

Would highly recommend http://www.mrmcar.com
I personally haven't been in a few years, but he did some work on my M-Coupe. Well respected, specifically among E30 and M-Coupe communities). I know he always focused on Ms, but according to the current website seems to work on a wide variety of BMWs. Can't comment on current rates though. I would guess he beats a dealership, but maybe not the outright cheapest independent. |

You could always road-trip to Philly. Oh, and ^Pete^, do you still have your M Coupe? (the Z3 M Coupe is my go-to car!)

RSW, Redline Speed Worx. Guys are awesome, facility is amazing, and prices are more than fair.

Drive Auto Works in Clifton (and now Mountainside) has been my go-to for years (with my Audi and now the BMW). Great guys, very knowledgeable, prices are more competitive than most other shops in the area. Doesn't have a fancy facility like some of the other Euro shops, but that's reflected in the prices. I've referred an innumerable amount of people to them, and everyone has had good experiences.
