Kalahari Beige ?
My current 328i Luxury GT will be 2 years old in September and I'm starting to think about the next one already. Probably with a view to changing it next March, so ordering late this year.
I love the colour of my present car, Midnight Blue, but obviously want something different next time. I had Platinum Bronze on a previous model and liked that, so I'm thinking maybe Kalahari Beige for the new one. Has anyone seen it in the flesh ? If so, does it shade, like Midnight Blue, and like this image below seems to show ? I've asked the dealership to see if they know of one anywhere around that I could see, but have not yet had a response. I like the spec of my current car and will probably just add folding mirrors to the new one, and maybe go for 19" wheels. Any comments, thoughts and opinions would be welcome. Thanks.

It would have been the color for me if I'd done a special order. I like my Midnight Blue, I don't like having to wash it twice a week. The Kalahari is similar to the color of my 07 Altima, which you could never tell if it was dirty.
I'd avoid 19s and low profiles if you deal with potholes every spring. I only have sunroof, Nav and rear camera, and am happy. The only other option I'd get if I special ordered would be the active cruise. |

When I went looking at colors a year ago, I found there was only one kalahari beige GT in stock the entire US! I happened to be in that state at the time and drove to the dealer to see it and liked it. When I placed my European delivery order, I was between KB and midnight blue. Went for the MB because in looked so special in bright sunlight with it unique shading of other colors, and the contrast with my saddle tan interior was stunning! I've had beige cars before and they are the best for always looking clean. If there hadn't been a MB to consider, I would have gone with KB and probably been very happy. So thats my story- go to go out and wash my MB car now! Good luck!

I have a neighbor (some blocks from here) that has a KB. In bright daylight it didn't impress me too much. Yet in darker days it glows nicely.
It looks quite sophisticated in the launchfilm: https://youtu.be/NfLIzRicSrY |

That wasn't Dave Walters BMW in Akron, OH, by any chance? When I placed my order from them a year ago they had one sitting on the showroom floor.

Thanks for all your, mainly positive, input. The term 'beige' is a bit of a downer, but it doesn't affect the colour.
Thanks to BrasWien for that link too, I hadn't previously seen that. So, at the moment, it's going to be Kalahari Beige for the next one.

It's difficult to get a real Impression of that Color on a photo. I've tried, but it's always different, than Reality. It's the same with other pictures i've found on the internet.
Kalaharibeige really does have a shadow effect, depending on the light situation. I like it. Here's one of my pictures |

A short update to this thread.
My Midnight Blue 328i went to the dealership today for it's first service. While I was there, and talking to one of the salesmen, he mentioned that he had a sample of Kalahari Beige to look at. I like it. I've brought the sample home and, importantly, my wife also likes the colour. So that's it, all sorted, next one will be Kalahari Beige. Do I go for another 328i Luxury, or a 335i Luxury ? It might all boil down to available discounts.
