You are totally wrong, S4 should be VS 335i, and RS4 VS M3, understand dude?

Audi's drive like Playstation cars. They bore me. Was the perfect car in I Robot.

It's pretty simple

335i MSport starts at $46,000
S4 starts at $47,700
M3 starts at $60,100

Which numbers are closer?

Acutally, if compare in price wise seem not proper here, we should compare similar hps range, if he can look carefully S4 and RS4's hps, then he will know how to identify and classify with 335i and M3.

I think the S4 is a better performance car vs a 335i (but not more practical). However, haven't any of you tried to negotiate with an Audi dealer? All I dealt with were not willing to budge off MSRP for the S4. So for that reason, I went with a 335i at invoice.

First hand experience

I drove both of these cars back to back to back to back today, (Audi dealer let us take car for the day), drove it to bmw to test 335xi & i

Anyway, I have had multiple bmw's in the past, my parents have had multiple audi's, so have driven both brands a ton.

I tried to like the Audi but just couldn't justify it over the 335 for multiple reasons.

1. Audi interior, electronics, etc. are far superior to that of the F30 (only thing that I prefer in audi interior are the sport seats with alacantara / two-tone leather.)

2. I know statistically the S4 if faster then the 335 but when driving back to back (both in the most agressive sport modes), the 335 just feels better. S4 shifting was seamless but I actually prefer the slight jerk between gears @ WOT with the 335i.

3. Msport > S4 exterior styling IMO

4. BMW offering much better MF and Residual rates for lease term.

Anyway will be picking up my 335 sometime this week hope this helps others make their decision which ever way they choose.

If that is bland we should all sign up!

I think the Bangle era has everyone thinking if the car is not full of creases...its bland.

The hallmark of great GERMAN design is SIMPLICITY....I think we may have forgotten that point.

Go back and look at the E30 or the E39...or even the E46....call them bland? I call them German!
+1. And this b8 has been out for how many years already? The interiors are def nicer in the audis although outdated against an all new 3 series of course. FLAT BOTTOM STEERING WHEEL. That thing is awesome. Better leather quality. But I still dont understand why turning the knob on the centerstack makes a clicking noise like it was some sort of toy from the 99c store.

For me its all about the handles and i will never get into an awd again.

Everything else wasn't even close - the Audi interior was so lacking in any personality (and the exterior, too, with the exception of the cool LEDs) we decided we couldn't live with it. It was so forgettable it was amazing. The dash was so bland and gray and one piece - felt very cheap. We went for the test drives fully expecting to love and buy the Audi, but in direct comparison completely fell in love with the 335. Oh, and the 335xi should be faster than the S4 (we got staggered summer performance tires). We picked the right one.
You have a staggered setup on awd? I would square. I would go square on rwd as well. Function over form!! Lol

i think the interior is nicer, i like the alcantara seats compared to the all leather

i think the standard s4 steering wheel is a lot nicer

the transmission feels smoother (manuals)
dct transmission feels great

mmi is great compared to e90 idrive (havent messed with current idrive)

fuel economy is better with the audi

bmw has a better "feel" when pushed but Im looking for a daily driver not a race car

bmw has better potential for power, but s4 is capable of 400whp no problem and thats more than enough

The audi is a gas guzzler compared to the F30.

everything else is subjective, but why your comparing a 2013 S4 to your old E90 is beyond me
i know this is an old thread but it is very relevant to the comparison i'm doing right now b/t the 13-14 s4 and 13 335i x drive

justinnum1, your statement about the trans of both cars could not be more off - i drove both cars back to back TWICE and the DCT in the 2014 s4 is leagues above in performance to the bmw zf8 - its not even close - MUCH smoother and MUCH faster on both up/downshifts

there's no way you could have driven the audi to compare and if you actually did you must be so blindly biased towards bmw as to cloud your reality

comments like yours which are so far from truth have the potential to steer people like myself in the completely wrong direction - bottom line is that you have to take everyone's posts with a grain of salt and get out and drive the cars to see how right or (mostly wrong) they are.

i'm glad i did and now i know that the only trans worth even getting any kind of excited about is the s4's

justinuum definitely has never driven a dsg tranny in the S4 or like you said purely biased towards BMW. It is a better driving tranny than the zf as it shifts faster but more importantly I believe it transfers more of the power.
The huge drawback of the Dsg is that I know too many guys who have had to pay $5k to $11k for a used or new DSG transmission. It is almost guaranteed to fail. While I loved my DSG tranny for 6 years I decided to trade it in for the ZF transmission BMW before it failed. I would give up the little bit of performance for reliability and money in my pocket.

the cars are so equal that for me it came down to which one would I enjoy opening my garage and looking at more. and the f30 M sport in estoril just blew away the S4 in my eyes.

Also RWD > AWD. i can slide the 335 pretty easy on the these all seasons. its alot of fun.
F30 has the heads up.
more comfortable suspension (b8.5 s4 owner opinion, not mine)
quieter with the 8 speed when you dont want engine noise
much better gas mileage.
