That is where we all spend most time.
The power curve looks to me to pretty much mirror the stock one .. but increased obviously. This looks correct to me for the particular car (m3)

That 320i will be a bit of a sleeper - especially with its single pipe not giving anything away!

For sure. The customer said he bought the 320i on purpose as he knew what improvements we could make on it with just a remap.

The 320i is mine and as they guys said I knew what could be done to it... they beat me to posting about it as had a crazy busy weekend at a friends wedding!

Like how it is the opposite to a lot of cars in here - lower key and debadged and people think it is a much slower car than it is! Really changed the character and punches hard when flooring it giving a big smile!

"No show, and all go"?

I like that philosophy

Are there any physical differences between the 20i and 28i engines? Or is it just software/map etc.

Yep a badged 320i at 270bhp will catch a few 3 litre cars out for sure

Yes I have heard the reliability of that engine is questionable anyway

The 20i is effectively a detuned 28i engine so we bring it up to 28i power. It can make more but we set it at this level.

Its the same as with the 20i B48 engine in the F56 MINI Cooper S which is a detuned version of the same engine in the 225i Active Tourer. We are getting the MINI's up to 290 BHP with just a map.

With BMW now leaning towards modular engines you will see more of this trend.

Don't intend to... I own my cars and buy after someone else has taken hit leasing them (!) and keep them typically to 100k miles, going above and beyond on servicing compared to main dealer (do most of it myself). Oil changes every 10k for instance so don't see any issues. Will probably change the timing chain and guides at 50k to be safe as I know in earlier cars it is a weak point.

First 4 series we've seen with the Autovogue conversion. Won't be to everyones taste but certainly different.

A beautiful Purple Silk F83 M4 Cab in for Akrapovic Downpipes, KW HAS kit and Evolve Stage 2 ECU tune with GTS DCT, Differential and Steering software updates.

Good tactic if keeping it. Enjoy.

Still toying with the idea. Best mate who owns secure my car had them take care of his M3. It's the price that is deterring me though.

Hi Paul,

I have a 335i with the MPPK and I'm going to be getting a sports cat soon, what sort of bhp do you think you could get with a remap? and do you add to whatever the mppk is producing or overwrite it?

Thanks

Would expect around 390-400 BHP. We use the MPPK as a base and add to that.
