Hi,

I have a Mini F57 Cooper S Convertible Right Hand Drive from Jan2016 manufacturing date.
It’s equipped with NBTevo ID4.
NBTevo E16072A


From the above I read that updating to iD6 seems to be the right solution , as I don’t have a use for the in build Navigation solution.

Would be great if someone can contact me regarding updating / coding.

I understood I need the Wi-Fi Antenna.
And it seems to me that I need a kind of network cable to connect NBT with the PC.

Is there further coding equipment required ?

I can maybe add what the car is equipped with. Maybe this is of some help to give me an indication what I need.

I have always loved the Apple car play in my old car and am missing it terribly as my old 2016 civic had it.
What must I do to get apple car play in my car?

Now it's possible to update id4 to latest 2023 firmware version and have everything working including full BMW/Mini maps navigation without any reboots.

Im in the process of getting a 2015 330i. Build date is 11/15 , I believe this makes it a nbt evo id4? Is this correct and can I simply upgrade software to get carplay?

On another note: Im going to be selling my 03 530i in the near future. It has an Alpine head unit with carplay retro installed. Im going to be pulling it out and putting stock unit back in for the sale, but if I sell the unit separately from the car, will there be many options for the head unit to fit into other makes/bmw models (its double din), or will I be hard pressed to find a buyer?

I see apple CarPlay will work after flashing. But how about Android auto?

I had the same problem in my 2016. It would reboot randomly when NOT using factory NAV. It was so annoying I ended up buying a newer used HU and having it coded.
