New member, new (to me) N20 Touring

Hello,
My first post here.
I thought I´d start off with a thread introducing myself and my car(s)

I am from Finland and have been driving BMW:s for 10 years.

Recently, I updated my daily from a E91 to F31.
These Finnish cars don´t normally have too much equipment, it is basically stock expect for HIFI, tow hitch, sports seats and light package. Those were actually essential for me.

I really like the colour, most of the F3x:s I see around Finland are alpine white. This is Mineral white, which actually is really nice.
I thought I´d start this thread to remember what I´ve done to mod it.

I started off with some OEM 19" wheels. Roads are so bad here that 20 is too much. I also ordered gloss black kidneys. Next up will probably be NBT/nav and more power.
Like I said this is our daily. I also have a S62 M5 with 62000 miles, which I drive during the summer and store it for the winter.

Hope you like the pics, opinions are welcome.

That is amazing that the moonroof is not standard. Do people in Finland not prefer moonroofs? Good looking car though.

The Finnish cars basically have nothing as standard. They come with cloth seats and halogen lights. Everything is extra.
Also, cars and equipment here are quite expensive, so Finns buy their cars quite poorly equipped on a general basis..
So, the answer to your question: I think we prefer it, but it for sure is not first on the list when speccing an standard car.

Thanks for the nice comments. Really like the wheels too. They are Style 399 from 4-series.

Great taste in cars...

... Coming from Europe myself, i know that ordering and buying cars there is more à la carte... You have more choices but its come at a price.

Congrats on the upgrade and Welcome.

Love it. Welcome and thanks for sharing!

Really like those wheels. What tire sizes? I assume 225/40 & 255/35?

Thanks again for the nice comments!

Tire sizes are indeed 255/40 and 255/35. I´m running Bridgestone RFT:s. Everybody always bashes RFT:s but in my opinion they are ok for a DD like this. Sports cars are a different story.

Yes, Ordering a car in Europe is very much a´la carte. US and Canadian cars seem to be pretty fully loaded as standard. Not here though..

I am thinking of ordering some springs. Probably will go Eibach prokit. H/R is another possibility. Opinions are welcome.

Cheers,

To be honest, I like the way it sits now; I wouldn't lower it. But that's me.

still not sure about the springs. I put the idea on hold until next summer. I need to change to winter tires soon, so no point on lowering the car just now.

I installed the black kidneys. What a major pain in the ass. I tried to do it from the outside, but with my fingers it was impossible to get the pins open. So I did what probably most people do and opened up the bumper.

Really like the look. I believe these are the "sport" griles in gloss black. OEM of course.

I´ve had the car for a month now and I am really liking it. It is a huge leap from E91 LCi which I had before. The only downside is the steering, which is somehow "vague" sometimes..

Cheers,
Sod-3

Finally got around to get some coding done to my car. Now the boot also closes from inside the car and key. As the car has the smaller lcd screen between the gauges I didn't have speed info until now.
Daytime lights now have the rear lights lit. We also coded sport+mode and the sport displays to Idrive but they don't work for some reason.
Still liking this car very much. Needs more power though

A little update. I installed Nbt a few months back. Really happy with the system and the updated look of the dash.
Last seek we installed the Alpina front. No need for Msport in my opinion.
I really like the look of this lip.
