Bay Area tint shops that use 3M?

Hey folks,

Any recommendations for Bay Area tint shops that use 3M?

Alternatively - is 3M really the best? Or are other brands better?

Want to get a new F30 done right!

Thanks!

Same here.. anyone in the SF bay area that can provide us info on recommended shops that do this as well. My BMW dealer quoted me about $450 up for all 4 windows.

Some threads that discuss this already:

I just got mine done Rocky Mountain in Livermore. $400 out the door. Came out perfect! I highly recommend them!

I don't get the fascination with 3M (Crystalline) film. Don't get me wrong...I only buy the best of the best and I don't skimp on anything. I just don't see the value in different films. This is in a different league than cheap versus expensive wheels/suspension/exhaust/tires/etc.

That said, I went to Auto Image in Belmont and it came out perfect. It's a high end shop unlike a lot of tint shops run by ghetto kids. <$300 for all windows using Suntek film with very high heat rejection, and it's certainly not going to bubble or turn purple. I can't think of any tangible benefit to more expensive film.

Matt @ RM in Livermore did my M3 2 years ago and never had any issues with it. I actually decided to use the Pinnacle FormulaOne instead of 3M. When I did my research, Huber Optic and Pinnacle FormulaOne where the two films everyone raved about. Since not many people here in Nor Cal used HO, I went with Pinnacle.

I've heard great things about AI in Belmont. But not a fan of Suntek. I had it in my previous car and it did turn purple over time. Maybe that was just because the car was over 10 years old. Who knows, just my own experience.

Good luck OP.
