If you go Independent, you will need to post on a separate Scottish Forum. Enjoy the UK one whilst you can.

They will raise costs probably (any excuse) as you are a tiny market. So buy whilst you can from the UK.

If the Scots get independence will they still be part of the eu?
Retarded question I know, but I really am not up to date with politics and this thing is looming close now. Wonder how it will effect buying and selling cars across the border. Wonder if Scotland will have their own dvla. |

Something painted / powder coated. More resilient to the winter conditions. As small as you can go.
I've gone for some 441M's and I'm planning on putting 225/45/RF18 tyres all round. If you have Blue Brakes or a 335 then you can only go down to 18's. There was no particular reason for 4 Series wheels other than they seemed a good buy and will look nice on my 3 Series... Same offsets etc. Getting the wheels rubbered at the dealer so my eBay wheels get looked at by an educated eye... Then all being well we're planning a trip up to Edinburgh at the end of October, probably with the winter rubber... I wonder if a Scottish government may require them like other Northern European countries... :-p

Although tyre choice is a bit limited if you want to stick with RF and the original sizes (as I've now found - should have done my research!)

I asked about this in a thread recently and others have already done this with no issues.

Camskill have both the BMW approved tyres (Continental and Pirelli) in stock http://www.camskill.co.uk/m11b0s4885...Runflat_inc_OE - the Pirelli look like a misprice at £158.70

Looking at the BMW online winter tyre configuration they recommended a non staggered setup in M sport as well.
225/18/R18 XL on both front and rear. With rims of 8Jx18. If those pirrellis are £150 that is cheap. Once the E90 goes will have a set of 216 BBS BMW Motorsport. Looks like even on 8.5J you can get 225s on and all that will happen the rears will move out by 1cm So now just to find out if I will need winters this year with the delay sit might be car will arrive at the end

As has been pointed out by others, the 397 is not ideal as it has a polished and not painted finish but I preferred the style at the time.
