Well said. If they compared it with a well kept ZHP E46, it would have embarrassed the F30 looks-wise.

He only has the MTech bumper on the front, no side skirts or rear bumpers to match so the only comparison to be made is the front. Much better comparison would be the ZHP which is damn sexy to this day.

I <3 e46
It is elegant & sporty at the same time.

E90, F30 both look much more angry in Msport

we all started somewhere.. lets remember that.. It is probably a high school kid that picked it up used that way. I had an e46 xi and now an e90xdrive. I think the e46 has aged very well compared to other luxury manufacturers. Every time Mercedes comes out with a new c-class, it is such a drastic change it instantly dates the previous.

No, we're upset because they chose an ugly example of an E46 to use for a comparison and put it up on the front page. As mentioned, that E46 isn't even factory. It has aftermarket cheap replica parts (imitation Taiwanese-made front bumper) on it as well as $20 eBay headlights.

I actually prefer the earlier E46 headlights to the later weird ones (which seemed like they made a different version of for every year and model.. eg, notice how the coupe doesn't have a scallop under the high beam, only under the low beam).

That said, I really dig the looks of the F30 but the hood shutline has to go.

I cannot get over the height of that e46's front! What is going on there?! Maybe it's towing a boat.

I am a huge fan of the e46, though. In general, I think they'll age as gracefully as the e30 is now, and will very quickly come back into demand once their price bottoms out, just like we're seeing with good condition e30s now. Props to OP for the idea, but I definitely would prefer a stock-to-stock image comparison. Especially if this is going to make the front page of bimmerpost!

You guys are mean! That was my first car and I still love it to this day. It's an Xi so ride height is higher. I was also poor so couldn't afford proper mods. Thanks for the front page BP even though the post is old, haha.

Compare it with a real ZHP man.
That e46 is ...... Wrong. E46s don't look like that. >_<
I'm glad you got the stock f30 w/ Msport. Big upgrade.

ZHP

Here's my old ZHP. Granted, its a convertible but a fairer comparison than a pre-LCI aftermarket mtech E46.
