For closing it's the lock button, to open the windows you need the open button

But, like you said, it most likely wont work without comfort access

+1

The work is in getting the cable purchased/built and then getting/installing/setting up the software. After it's all setup on the PC, coding is just a few minute process, thanks to the F10 guys and svache.

Taking money for doing some coding implies taking responsibility if something goes wrong; that's not something I think most people would be willing to do.

I would think it might work with the FOB without CA (lock to close, open to open), just that the door handle method probably won't work (as svache said).

Note that depending on the date your car was built, the KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB needs to be set to atkiv (as shown in the cheat sheet), but the werte value will be set to 00, not 01.

My 328i was built in April and I ran across that. I was going to set it to 01 (as the cheat sheet shows), but decided that the software was probably right and I left it alone (changed to 00). I've seen others reporting the same thing. Did you force the wetre value to 01? If so, try setting aktiv again and werte to 00 and see if that helps. I didn't have to change the KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA value and that werte value was 0 also.

Also, you changed the ASP_...KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG status to aktiv/01 too, right?

Good luck!

I think you say something very important indeed. If someone pays someone else for doing this, he/she is implying that there might be a form of warranty in case something goes wrong and, in the worst case scenario, the ECU needs to be replaced.

I'm willing to code for people, to help them out, but I can't take that kind of responsibility. That's why I'm offering it for free, the risks are always there and it is up to the car owner if he/she wants to have that risk

Regarding the KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB and werte thing.. I just checked and you're right, nicht_aktiv = 01 and aktiv = 00. I should change this in the cheat sheet

Thanks FROGMAN and SVACHE that did work. I also tried to enable windows going up when closing the door but it does not work. There sure is a lot to investigate. Have a great Sunday!

I may be crazy, but the folding mirrors from the fob with comfort access is so cool that I'm thinking of coding my F30 when we pick it up on ED in Europe. :-)

I downloaded the torrent and the .zip file tests correctly. You have to combine the .001 through .016 files into one zip file before you can extract it.

That all may be moot as the torrent psdzdata files are an older version (46.1) compared to the rapidshare ones (46.3).

I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I'm using the ones from rapidshare and they work fine on my F30.

Yeah, I was concerned about the files being back-level as well on that torrent. So, I signed up for RapidShare and have downloaded the files, which are extracting as I speak.

I very much want to use the Esys and pszdata files that svache has been so successful with, so it was worth it to me.

Let me ask this question to F30 coders: if I were to zip all the RapidShare files together into a single archive, create a torrent file that I upload here and seed the torrent for a couple of days, would that help others? Are there others out there who would help me seed it?

I'm willing to seed it for a week or so, but after that, I can't afford the bandwidth.

I also download and installed the torrent version. Now realizing the data files in it are an older version. Anyone know if 46.1 should work fine with 2012 F30, or do I need to download the 46.3 version from RapidShare? Still waiting for delivery of my car, so can't test it yet.

Thanks,
Erik

Hi guys ...

I'm a bit stuck on the software installation. Following the steps in the PDF, step 4 states:

04) Copy "est" folder from "\\E-sys 3.18.4\est" to "C:\ESysData\e-sys est"

I have the "est" folder ... but I do not see a folder named "e-sys est" in C:\ESysData to copy the folder to? Am I suppose to create this folder? or am I supposed to rename the "est" folder to "e-sys est"? See file hierachy screenshot below?

Any help would be appreciated - want to ensure I'm doing this correctly.

It is sort of a typo it should read C:\ESysData\EST make sure in the EST folder that you have an EST File that is named Cde Away.est Sorry I am responding from my desktop and all my files are on my laptop so no screenshots. But the folder you are showing should have the EST folder in it.

@ martinf79 when you finally get E-sys up and running go to "options" drop down box to settings and then tab to EST. Once there browse for Code Away.est where you put it. Should be Whatever drive you have it on I'll use x as the example X:\ESysData\EST\Code Away.est I also recommend in the same settings box going to "Program" and uping the RAM in increments of 512MB at least to 1024. E-Sys will need to restart after you bump that up.

Sorry - one more question. RE:

06) Copy the contents of the "C:\ESysData\psdzdata\swe" folder into the "C:\ESysData\SWE" folder.

Can I delete the files in "C:\ESysData\psdzdata\swe" once I move them. Files are about 15GB and running on an ultrabook (120GB SSD), so don't want to use up more space if I don't need to. Can you please let me know.

Also - can I actually run all of the folders off of an extneral drive as opposed to my C: drive?
