Considering a 340 upgrade over my 335i mppk/mpe
All
I'm taking my car in for service this week. It's a 2012 335i mppk/mpe with 45k. My warranty expires this month and I have 2 years of CPO left. The dealer has a 340 with all the options I would want. It's mine plus PDC cameras, msport, and hk. Mine is a sportline with everything else. I live in western pa so mine is rwd so a change to this as xdrive would be nice. Can anyone chime in on the performance difference as well as what I should expect to pay. I've included the link below for review. Could I get this for under 50k? MSRP is 60,880. That with great finance rates would help. Not sure of current incentive or what other people are paying. Ultimately is paying more money worth the upgrade? Thanks for all of your help. http://www.albmw.com/new/BMW/2016-BM...eca3cd1714.htm |

It being AWD and with the B58 it probably will feel faster. Personally I would try to wait until the G20 comes out. That way even if you don't like the G20 platform the F30 B58's will be cheaper.
And at 60k you're pretty close to M3 territory. Might be worth it to bite the bullet and step into an F80 (although no AWD). |

The goal for me would be able to get a 340 in the high 40s. I would like to wait but this car even with 2 years of cpo seems to have something break every year. At that price I think it would be worth it. I'm more wondering what I can get discount wise

Offer them 50 K and see what they'll do.
At 60 K as others have pointed out you are approaching a stripped M3 but when you got options on that it's about 80K for the same car |

I personally would try to sell your car on your own for whatever you owe plus profit it it possible.
Secure a loan at a bank on your own then roll into the dealership and try to buy whatever car you like. The dealership will have little to no leverage and if they want the sell they will bend to your will especially late in the month or during the end of a quarter |

I just keep it? The cars will be pretty similar in acceleration, a few tenths in a quarter-mile. Not a Big deal.
Now a f80... that would be a different story |

Fully loaded 340 with M Sport, Track (which is huge) and everything else can be had for $50K if you get a 2016 leftover. I know because I passed on one.

Purchased my wife's 2016 two weeks ago in GA. Sticker was $60.8K, negotiated to $50.xK. Had never driven an F30 with adaptive suspension before this car, but the 2012-2014 335i's we had driven just didn't feel sporty enough coming from her 2011 335i E90 sport package.
