All Weather Mats vs. M Perf Mats
Hi All, I just ordered a black sapphire metallic w/ coral red interior earlier this week (yay!). I'm sorry if this has been posted before--upon searching (unless I'm blind) I couldn't find any applicable recent threads.
Anyone have an opinion on the All Weather Mats (Sport line Red) vs. the M Performance Mats (more expensive of course)? All weather mats are a must in my car. Evidently the M Performance Mats are also all-weather but honestly it was hard to tell from the product picture. Any feedback is much appreciated. Utility is most important, but of aesthetics also plays a big role in my decision too M Performance Mats: http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/47...NCE-FLOOR-MATS BMW All Weather Mats (Sport Line Red): http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/48...HER-FLOOR-MATS |

I have a sport line car but got the non sport line all weather mats as my interior is mostly black with red contrast stitching. All weather mats are awesome, didn't know the M Performance ones were all weather, does make for a nice touch. It's up to you honestly, I wouldn't get the truck liner though as I considered that too as I believe it goes over the floor net based on the pic? And it makes accessing the area under the floor kind of awkward.

I have the same car as you and went with the sportline mats--they match the CR really well and are easy to clean. Get those--they are really nice.

I have same color combo on a 440xi gc I am taking delivery of on Monday. I ordered the M-performance mats along with all of the m-performance interior goodies except steering wheel. I will send you a picture next week when I get all of my m-performance items put on.

I bought my M-mats from here.
https://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloc...catalogid=8798 I like the mats because they are different and they stand out. But they don't really have a lip around the edge of the mat like the other ones so they do not hold water in if its really wet. It rains a lot around here but I have never had problems and I don't take my car into the snow. This is the only down fall of these mats if you can call it that. They are made from a rubber material. If I had to choice between these two different mats again I would go with the M-mats |

You can get the mats mentioned by obert from Passport BMW in MD for a similar price. Their online parts store is mybimmerparts.com:

I have BMW all weather mats for the winter months and they are great. My kids get them all dirty and they just wash off. Also I regularly have had a fair bit of snow get in on my floors and they hold the water just great. Easy to get the mats in...easy to remove for cleaning.

Thank you guys for the feedback.
I was actually considering WeatherTech, too, but I may buy the trunk liner from them and buy the mats from BMW for aesthetic purposes. Speaking of WeatherTech, do you guys know how their cleaning products are? I need to restock my cleaning supply once I get the new car and was thinking of using the WeatherTech products. They're a lot more expensive though than some of the standard brands I'm used to like Turtle wax, Rain X, Black Magic, etc. Is WeatherTech worth the extra cost for the cleaning products?? |

Red/black sportline mats flow perfectly.
I will be looking for the Black/beige for my 340i with Venetian interior

They're pretty, but the job of floor mats is to protect your carpets from dirt and especially water damage. WeatherTech floor liners are unsurpassed. If you really must have a BMW logo of some sort on them the all weather floor liners look to be re-badged WeatherTech.

Billfitz...I agree weathertech makes a top end product. However, the BMW mats are really good. Perfect fit, look good and have deep channels for water. I can say I have put mine to the test and they have been great.

Its not about the BMW logo its about what I want and I prefer the M-Mats to any other mat because I have had them all over the last 10 years. Love weathertech products but I have been there several times with their liners, trunk liners, window visors and sun screens. |

Thank you all for the feedback, it's been most helpful for sure. I probably won't have my new 340 until late Apr but I'm trying to eye up all the accessories now for when my baby arrives. I think I'll go w/ the Sport Line BMW mats AND a WeatherTech trunk liner. I'm constantly hauling my road bike and dirty gym and hiking shit in the truck so the liner (even though it's a bit pricey) should be a good investment. I have to admit those M Mats are sick looking though

I got the Weathertech trunk liner as it fits the trunk... the BMW trunk mat does not seem to cover the whole trunk.... I asked my CA for the rubber mats which I use and will retain the backs all year and put the carpets back in in late April.
I have the Weathertech floor liners in another car and they are very good... in fact the rear is one price and does a great job. You asked about the cleaning products, I just got the cleaner and protector and that worked just fine. They look much more refreshed! Enjoy your new car!
