Cleaning the Grey Brembos

How are you guys getting your Grey Brembos back to like new? I have so many detailing tools/products and nothing i try gets the black spots off them. Ive tried everything!

Ive been using Adams wheel wash with a Speedmaster brush.

Also, I wash this car religiously, so its not like im trying to fight alot of brake dust.

Might need something stronger...Once I take off winters and put back my summers I'm planning to use Carpro IronX, APC dilluted 4:1 and whole lot of elbow grease. We'll see how it turns out.

Hmmm, I just got some Carpro IronX. Maybe ill give that a go.

I will. Im gonna do a full correction myself and document it step by step.

Been reading on detailing forums and Iron x may not be safe for some finishes on calipers. Ifnitnwas bare metail it be ok but these are not. Hmmm. Ill test a small spot.

I used the iron X on the caliper and tried to scrub it hard with my speedmaster brush. It didnt even phase the caliper. It still as the black spots on it. I dont know what else to do other than to get a wire brush but i feel like that may damage the coating on it.

I tried brake cleaner too. Didnt do a thing.

They could be permanently stained. If it bothers you that much, either have someone paint them or do it yourself. Like mentioned above, post up some pics. I was thinking of having mine done.

Yeah, I'm thinking the stains are permanent too and considering using G2 black caliper paint, possibly with the silver Brembo decal.

Thoughts?

As I was swapping wheels and tires this past weekend I cleaned mine using a steel brush on handtool and it took "most" of it off. Be gentle and careful of course. It's not brand new but it's much better then what it was before. Good luck!
Of course painting is probably the best thing to do but you'll want to clean/prep as good as you can.
