I ordered my MSport with the stock 18's which they too are wicked heavy - 26.5lbs for front and and 27lbs for rear. The 403's are 1lb heavier than that! I plan to swap out to BBS RS-GT
Finish: Diamond Black w/Mach Lip Construction Type: Forged - 19x8.5 front/19x9.5 rear. Going to shed 18lbs of unsprung/rotation weight with new wheel/tire setup. Next Month!

There are many other brands of wheels for 1/2 the cost of BBS that are just as good and way lighter and nicer looking than the 403.
From what I remember, the 403s are MORE than 1lb heavier.

I'm still prospecting my next car

I would probably buy them if I had the 328i right now.

So patiently waiting on the 2 series ordering guide to come out any day now. My list:

1) 228i
2) 428i
3) m235i
4) 328i

All Msport.

Does that pound per tire really make a huge difference?

It's closer to 2 lbs, and when factoring in things like ditching runflats, can become 3+lbs per corner. And yes, it has an affect on steering feedback/feel/weighting as well as handling. These are things the F30 gains from big time due to the EPS.

Well I opted for them on my car, but god damm were they boring! So, I sold them and got aftermarket wheels.

All OEM wheels have one, no two, big problems; high ET and high weight.
+1 Ridiculous.. You can get them on a 316i anywhere else. I don't know why BMW insists on doing things differently everywhere

I have both the 403Ms and the 400Ms. I can concur that the 403Ms are very hard to keep clean.

Their tighter spoke pattern also makes them gather more brake dust than the more open design of the 400M.

I use Sonax wheel cleaner on a weekly basis to keep them clean.

I also did notice that in Sport mode with DHP, the 18" 400Ms do ride a bit smoother compared to the 19"
403M. Is it a night and day different? No, it isn't. In fact in Comfort mode I did notice any meaningful change.

The finishing of the 400Ms does look a bit plain when compared to the 403Ms, especially when side by side.

Shedding 1lbs of unsprung weight is like shedding almost 10lbs off of the cars weight. Cause thats a weight sitting on the wheels which the engine has to rotate, higher inertia.

I lost 36lbs of unsprung weight going from 19" 403Ms and Bridgestone RFTs to these 20" ATS wheels with Michelin PSS. And I felt it in performance, handling and comfort.

..but the economy went up cause having 245 all around is not optimal, having sticky PSSīs is even less so
