Not a bit - until you mentioned this I forgot how bad that used to get on my E92 shod with Michelin Pilots...

I cannot fault the PSS - you are welcome to have a trial run of you're concerned about taking the leap.
So maybe this really is trait that manifests itself with mixing rft and non rft tyres.

Anyway at least on Friday I can hopefully corroborate Mark's views on them.

But that suspension drives me mad. I've got used to ACS springs now and a) they are too soft for me and b) dampers are still sh*te. It's a million times better than the standard xDrive setup but another drive in M3 (why do I do this to myself) showed me that I'd actually get a lot more pleasure from that setup than the loss of ultimate grip and economy. You just cannot escape that weight over front axle.

See 3 days ago I'd convinced myself I didn't want an M3. Now, as predicted, I do!

Wife today passed blessing to Tanzanite Blue one and reminded me that times running out before 'everything will be hybrid' so get yourself something fun with 6cyls whilst you can (knew good reason I married here).

So we're back to plan B (or C - I can't remember now). Change to M3 Sept 2016. Then will chop in for xDrive M5 2018 (as I'll be old by then so will be suitable!).

Wonder how many times I'll keep changing my mind until then......
ACS RS coil over kit.... Go on, you know you want to!!!

I do want to try Terry. I am very sure it will make a massive improvement over even the ACS springs but I'm just not convinced it'll hide the weight over the front axle which I think will still be there despite actually having decent damping control. We'll see how business goes over the next 6 months - not sure I can justify spending out that much more.

If and when you do go for it, I will be VERY interested to see how you get on. Let's see who's first to crack

Well I'm doing the tyres this week (slow puncture has given me a good excuse).

Then the wife's new Mini Cooper SD 5 door arrives at the end of the month and we will sell the Z4. Once that's sold then hoping to try the Superchips ECU. I doubt it will be as good as the ACS one, but at £400 it just makes more sense for me.

So will have a few months to enjoy the new tyres and power upgrade, get through the winter and then see where I'm at in the Spring. Have a few house projects to sort first, before I can look at spending close to £3k on suspension! (once fitting and alignment check is added).

Yes, although swapping for an M3 could be tempting Guy, the RS upgrade kit is a hell of a lot cheaper, even after writing off the cost of the original ACS springs
And it will most likely be 95% as good as an M3.

As good as the M3 is, it is a lot of money at the moment until discounts appear.

Wouldn't be moving until I get a very (15-20%) good discount. It will happen at some point. Interestingly enough there is already loads of stock locally here - they've had M4 Conv in showroom with no takers (it is in AY which doesn't help). I dunno, i might well do the RS conversion - see how pants I am at resisting next year....

Fact is even if I get an M3, how long before I'm off to see Lorcan anyhoos.

Never satisfied....

Perhaps ACS can do a piped sound upgrade to stop the M3 sounding like a video game?

I think I would jump straight to (another) M5

My missues bought a little Cooper when I bought the 320d and she loves it.

The Steinbaur tuning model on my 320d is proving to be a hoot and is well suited to the overall package. The ACS springs on my f31 x drive is a big improvement for my requirements as a comfy all rounder. It gives it a nice stance and I like the sharper turn in. The 320d as you mentioned is slightly sharper on the front end than the 6cyl models but they weren't an option.
With my track toy tucked for the winter my plan will be to move the f31 on in 2016 and get into an M4 or maybe the M3 with the some CC brakes and a few Mspor goodies and take it to the Ring and Spa provided and don't go back to Porsche or Audi.

No, their solution is an ECU type thing now. Easy to remove before going to the dealers.
