Quick Decision...

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I have an order for a stick 335, but its going to take until july or august now and I wanted to get the car this month (ordered months ago and dealer didn't tell me that they didn't have allocations...)

The decision:

-dealer will give me the same car with sport auto transmission next week or I can wait 3 more months for the stick....

Note: going to be moving to more congested area, and have always owned both a stick and an auto... this is the first time I will only have one or the other... I am a car guy, always love stick but is it that necessary over the new sport transmission?

WHAT SHOULD I DO?!

I think driving a stick is a completely different experience to driving an auto, even with paddle shifters, so your choice...

Im a car guy too.. Get the auto.. its amazing and one of the newest innovations in the 3 series line. Why go to boring ol' manual transmission when you can have that hightech 8 speed with ridiculously fast shift times. Specially since they both cost the same...The car just feels more high tech with the sport 8 speed

Waiting a few months longer without the new car sounds better than having to go several years with the regret of driving a car that isn't exactly what you ordered at the outset. You ordered the manual for a reason, I say stick with it.

I am usually a manual guy, but in this car, the new 8spd auto is hard to beat. I even like it better than the DCT.

My wife's 135i is an auto, I've driven F1 transmission Ferrari's, DSG VW's and DCT M cars and there is nothing like a stick. I will never buy a two pedal car.

I would wait and get what you like most. The worst thing is to buy the car and 2 weeks later regret it.

Stick is fun, auto is convenient!

Tell them you want a discount since its a dealer car. Then take it!

I get what everyone is saying about regretting your choice 2 months later but its a beautiful brand new high-tech BMW. I don't think you will be disappointed!

I bought the auto and it is the first everyday driver that I have owned that has an auto. In my four days of ownership there was one instance where I wish it were a stick and four instances where i was really glad it is an automatic. The transmission is amazing and I'm quite happy with my choice.
