Think I am finally starting to get this..
By the way, thanks for the detailed response.

Permanon is the latest compound from Germany that actually adheres to Opticoat. I was very pleased with this compound, the application is very easy as you only mix 5 mil of permanon to I litre of distilled water and spray it all over the surface and beneath the grill. I used an auto sprayer and seemed to stick to the surface fine. Again I must say permanon is NOT necessary, I'm just a fanatic about detailing
Ali would permanon be a substitute for wax?

"Heidi" has only been detailed twice in 2.5years.
Initial paint correction and opticoating was done upon delivery of vehicle in June 2012 by Kevin at *********** whom I would highly recommend.

She was recently "freshened" up by Sal from TNDetail Sept 2014 for the BMW True North Annual Show and Shine Event. Where I took home a trophy for 1 of the 2 best F30s ... So I would also recommend Sal's work.

Between the two details all I have been doing is using optimum no rinse to handwash the car with a few trips to the touchless washes in the winter.

Thanks Photoman.

No need for any wax? Does the opticoat make a noticeable difference to the "bling"?

Also...my black door pillars are swirl marks / minor scratches - would the initial paint correction work on this as well or should I get this dealt with before going to the detailer?

Sent you a pm as well.

Additional wax on top of Opticoat is not necessary, you won't be disappointed.
But if you feel it's not "bling" enough for you a nice carnauba wax could be added.

the detailer can take care of those b-pillar swirls etc.

PM replied to.

No worries, yes look for auto dent on Doncaster avenue in thornhill, north of steels. That's where I did mine a few months ago...it's expensive $450.00, but the guy is really good. Be prepared to leave the car for half a day....cheers.
