Opti Coat
Just got a brand new 328i, and wondering about applying Opticoat to the car. I was looking through some detailing stores, and one place quoted me $400 to do my full car with Opti Coat 2.0 (he said hes a licensed dealer for them)
Just curious is $400 seems reasonable, and if its worth it. thanks! |

Been checking into Opti coat myself. The research I have done says that the price you got is pretty much on point. The reviews for this product are great as well. I have called around for prices here in NY. Been quoted 350 up to 499.

Yup, I've been quoted b/t $250-$400 for wash, clay, polish, prep (wiping w/ alcohol mix), and then applying the Opticoat

$400 for Opticoat 2 is a good price for now. I paid $500 including wheels. $250 is a great deal. It takes me 20 minutes to was my car using Optimum No Rinse so it's a breeze. Going forward I will Opticoat all of my nice cars.

Just so you guys know, I had my car Opticoated yesterday. If you're in the Houston area, it was Dave from Road Rage Detailing. He was awesome. Came to my house in the morning and was here for 8hrs!
Wash, clay, polish and then Opti Coat. The longest part was the polishing and depending on what paint corrections you need, this part can make the price go up or down. I ended up paying $325 and he also took each one of my wheels off and cleaned and coated inside the barrels. Best $325 spend. He busted his ass and did an awesome job.

I got quoted $550 at 5PointDetail in San Diego. Not cheap. But I pay $35 every two weeks for wash & exterior detail. It adds up to $770 per year + the usual scratches & swirls. So I think at the end of the day, the Opti-Coat is still better.
Does it make sense?

Its def worth it...got mine done for $400 up here in Toronto and it is amazing. First wash is coming up this weekend but from what I hear should be a breeze. That in itself makes it worth it for me

Sure, his name is Dave with Road Rage Detail - 832-233-7518. He prefers text since he has a full time job other than detailing. Tell him Mike sent you from the Bimmer Forum. I don't get anything but I told him I would send him some business and he's a cool dude that does great work so I like to pay it forward. enjoy!
