Engine Noise in Sport Mode

I've noticed recently that when I put my car into sport mode, the engine sounds very 'tractor-ish' has anyone else noticed this ? Any tips on what to look for, test for as this is my first 'automatic' and Im not sure it's 100% ok.

3 years old, FSH, 58k, F30 320d M Sport.
