+1 on this. I am trying to decide if I should do resonator delete or muffler delete. I have stock exhaust with catless DP.

Whereas the resonator delete is much more subtle in comparison, but a slightly more aggressive sound.

Or if you want the improved sound with minimal drone, then look at a good aftermarket backbox/MPE. Just depends how loud you want it and how much you want to spend.
MPE is honestly not all that great especially on the F30 i've heard it, and for the money you can get a better system from Borla like the ATAK that CIWS has watch his videos.

On the other hand, i think DP + Resonator delete would be great and for those that want louder Muffler Delete for cost saving.

Now the question is, which one is reversible the easiest ?

Muffler Delete is overkill IMO. Start off with resonator, if you like it, your good. If you want more, then go with the muffler delete. Easier to reverse that way.

I did mine not long ago. They did a pretty clean job but the welds were sub par for the amount of reputation and clientele the shop had/has.

Is there a sound difference from catless downpipe to removing resonator?
Im in the position where im going to install my er dp soon but thinks there might not a big difference in sound from resonator delete after dp installed.

There is a sound difference from what I have heard. I have MPE and I think it sounds nice.

Another one on the bandwagon - had my resonator removed today. Mppk + mpe + dinan intake + jb1. Wow, this is a must do. Under about 4k the difference is mild but noticeable. Over 4k - Whoah, it screams.

There is some slight harshness in sound on the low end. Nothing offensive, and it's enthusiast friendly, but it's pretty obvious this wouldn't play well to the masses, and understandable why BMW kept the resonator in with the mpe.

That said, the sound is now worthy of the "performance" moniker. Really happy with this simple mod.

Paid $100 in NJ. Found a few cheaper shops, but they are either too far away, or in questionable areas. Quite a few by me quoted $175, at which point I laughed and hung up.

Just went to a meineke, in Ledgewood, but it was one that had good reviews. 3 local shops here in Morristown (local mechanics,) were 125 - 175

CG Precision VSC-1 (with flap open - you can hear the flap close at 0:42)

Cold 3 or 4 degree celsius morning so this is a very very cold start.

So did you install the Controller only or full exhaust? I really like the sound of your car, but I checked the website and you can buy the full exhaust or just the controller but I don't understand how just getting the controller works

It's actually 3inch of my 3inch ID so it's technically not true 3 inch.

Next 28th october I'll remove the central resonator replacing it with a central stright line by Ragazzon (Italy).
I've got also DP HJS 200 cells and MPE mod.340: I think the exhaust sound will improve

I removed the resonator on an otherwise stock exhaust and am underwhelmed with the amount of added noise. My downpipe is already on the way, so I'm hopeful that will change the sound significantly. Based on what I've heard, it will.

My exhaust is a stock M Performance Exhaust. The controller is the CG Precision controller which was made specifically for exhausts that have the flap built in and is a very simple plug and play that allows you full control of the flap.

The controller is actually for sale if you are interested.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
