Garage door opener stops working for a few hours??

I have had my car now for almost 1 year and this has happened twice now. The garage door opener in my car will stop working. I can see the little light on the rear view mirror blinking but the garage door wont open. After a few hours (i.e. overnight) it will work again without me doing or changing anything. I have gotten so accustomed to entering my house via the garage that many times I dont even carry my house key so last night I was locked out.

Anyone else have this problem?

Do you still have the OEM garage remote? Maybe it's the opener unit, and not the car? If you keep the remote, you can test to see if the remote works when the Home Link doesn't, to rule out the opener itself.

Good point. I will keep the OEM remote in my car so the next time this happens I can verify what the problem is.
