Yes, this is quite simple. When a new Map is released, you buy the Media only version from dealership or Tischer BWM (www.getbmwparts.com) for about $40, or download it for free online after it is posted, then buy FSC Code from FSC Code seller for about $50 for CIC or $150 for NBT, then udpate your maps via the cars USB Port.

Or, do it the BMW way, and go to your Dealer and pay anywhere between $300 and $500 to have them update it.

Do you need to get a new FSC code every time you update?

Yes. The FSC Code is Car VIN, Map Year, Map Region, and Map Type (CIC, NBT, etc.) specific. Change any of those variables, and you need a new FSC Code.

Yes. Send me a PM if you need one.

But, you have a 2013 F30, so I assume you also have 2013 North American Premium Maps now, and will not need to update until 2014 Maps are released.

As far as I know I have the latest version right now, but there is a road that has been in existence for 2 years that's not yet in the maps... which is just mind boggling. But in the future when they release the maps I will definitely contact you.. thanks.

Enable bluetooth dun. Connect car to the phone. From main menu Select ConnectedDrive->BMW Live->Settings.
Set Country UK. save. Update BMW Live to get latest updates. I do not have combox on my car, only option 6NH and it is working.
I'm confused. I am in the US, have a 328i with tech/apps/etc. If I code this will it enable BMW Live/Connect (one with news, weather, yelp)? I have FoxFi, just didnt know we could use it for internet on the car. Thanks in advance!

Hello Mr.shawnsheridan.

I had my F30 repaired today.
I check when I-LEVEL had been upgraded to F020-13-07-506.

Can you tell us about the versions of psdzdata fit in this?

I have a est token paid already.

Thank you.

The part I'm confused about is what functionality do you lose on a US car by activating this? I have seen posts that you have choose this or BMW Assist.. which seems like a no brainer, until you crash into something and need BMW Assist.

For what you want to do, you will accomplish via FDL Coding.
Shawn, can you provide a simple step-by-step instruction about flashing ECU's?
I have read the manual Programming ECU with E-SYS 3.8, but it was written so complicated.
PS. I understand the risk of "bricking" ECU when it is flashing but I still want to learn the ECU flashing procedure.
PPS. Where can I download PDX templates?

You do not need PDX Templates if you are flashing using the PSdZData.

Here are the basic steps, using Kombi as an example:

Go to Comfort Mode => TAL-Calculating
- Read and Save FA
- Activate FA
- Read and Save SVT Actual as SVT_ist
- Create an SVT Target
Under KIS/SVT Target Calculation Strategy, select Complete Flash
Select I-Step (shipm.) to match your original I-Level as read and shown in VCM I-Step (Shipment)
I-Step (target.) will be unselectable as it is fixed based on current PSdZData I-Level
Do a KIS/SVT Target Calculation and Save as SVT_soll
- Do a TAL Calculation and Save as SVT_tal

Go to Expert Mode => TAL-Processing
Load TAL (SVT_tal)
Load SVT Target (SVT_soll)
Select "Read FA" button.
Check radio button for "read VIN out of FA"
On ECU Tab, uncheck let top box in column "All" (All checked boxes should toggle to unchecked)
On ID Base Row for Kombi, make check boxes in blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy, and ibaDeploy columns.
Press Check software availability
Press Start and it will proceed with processing TAL to flash Kombi with new firmware.

Thank you so much!

Should I flash all of ECU's to the same I-step or I can flash any ECU's to I-step corresponding PszData version and don't flash the rest ECU's?

I wasn't sure what "some errors" meant, so I figured I would give it a try, I set it to 10kmh ant it instantly faults out when going above 10.. Guess I'll have to up it to 30.

Yes, the whole system turns off, including the window rolling down.. I just coded this and tested it yesterday. It's a deal breaker for me, I would rather have the windows work all the time and remember to turn the radio off.

When you flash, it will be to the I-Level based on the PSdZData version you are using. You can flash only one, and leave the others at their I-Level.

Am I right if I going to flash only used NBT and I don't want to change VIN in donor's NBT I have to use "enter VIN" radio button and enter donor's VIN instead "read VIN out of FA"?

That is how it is supposed to work, but I have not personally tried using a different VIN. I think I would leave it as "read VIN out of FA", and just edit FA for the donors VIN.
