Thats a mega deposit but guess its because your car is so individual.
Yes, the deposit is 15%, they had wanted 20% but we compromised.

The dealer that I'm going through had been shafted a couple of times with 'individual' cars where the new owns DISAPPEARED at the time of collection and the dealer still has them. So their thought was that if the deposit is large you might actually collect it.

A different engine to a 330d obviously and a choice I hope I won't regret but I got a 10% discount without too much effort. End of March/early April delivery, so close to 12 weeks for an xdrive (was quoted 1st March for an s drive from same dealer)
Did you have a test drive in a 330d?

No. Had I done so then no doubt I would have ordered one :-)

I tested a RWD 320d and was more than happy with the performance for what is effectively our school run car. Started to think the additional weight of an xdrive might be an issue but I can live with it

The additional weight is only equivalent to another passenger. As the car was originally RWD they only have to add a middle clutch and front drive shafts. Plus and few other bits and bobs.

The 330d is awesome, you just ride a very large wave of torque and 70mph is around 1,500rpm. Heaven.

Orange M Performance break calipers to go with the bodywork? Would love to see that.

I was originally going to do that but as I didn't want to have 19" wheels and I wanted to have winter tyres later on I couldn't do that. Its a shame but never mind. I just have to content myself with the rest of the toys.

I have just ordered a 330d xDrive M Sport Touring to replace my E60 535D M Sport.

Anyone made a similar switch?

My present car is a Honda Accord Tourer with 125,000 miles on it. I have never bought a new car before. I've always had to compromise with someone else wish list of extras.

So I decided to bite the bullet and buy what I wanted.
